REPORT ON INTER COLLEGE STATE SPORTS & GAMES CHAMPIONSHIP 2018-19 GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL EDUCATION DIRECTORATE PHYSICAL EDUCATION SECTION BIKASH BHAWAN SALT LAKE KOLKATA HOSTED BY KALIACHAK COLLEGE SULTANGANJ MALD PREFACE It is the honour for selecting the Kaliachak College as the venue college to organize the Inter College State Sports & Games Championship 2018 – 2019 of Malda District. The Kaliachak College successfully organized the Inter College State Sports & Games Championship 2018 – 2019 district level including 11 (Eleven) colleges of Malda District on 29th, 30th & 31st January 2019. At first 13 Committees were formed with the teaching and non-teaching staff, Governing Body Members and also communicated with The Vice Chancellor, University of Gour Banga, the District Magistrate, Malda, Superintendent of Police, Malda, Block Development Officer, Kaliachak – I, Kaliachak – II & Kaliachak – III, Panchayet Samiti Sabhapati, Kaliachak – I, Kaliachak – II & Kaliachak – III Inspector-In-Charge of Kaliachak Police Station for smooth conduct of the programme. Subsequently the Principals / Representatives from all the eleven colleges of this district were invited and representatives from seven colleges were present in the meeting to discuss the related matters on 16th January, 2019. Unanimously all agreed to work together for successful competition of the programme and decided to hold it in Mozampur Yuba Association Club & Library Play Ground. On 29th January 2019 at 11 a.m. the inaugural function for the Inter College State Sports & Games Championship 2018 – 2019 was held presided over by Dr Nazibar Rahaman, Principal, Kaliachak College attended by honourable guests Md Samsul Hoque, Principal, Gazole Mahavidyalaya, Md Ejajul Hoque, Governing Body Member, Md Lutfar Rahaman Ex. Sabhapati, Kaliachak – I Panchayet Samiti later Dr A N Khan Choudhury, Ex Minister, President, Governing Body of this college, Sri Suman Chatterjee, Inspector-In-Charge, Kaliachak Police Station, Sri Soumitra Karmakar, the observer from the state and the teachers and non-teaching staff of this college and of all eleven colleges of the district along with the players and students of this college and other colleges. But Mr Kousik Bhattachariya, IAS, the District Magistrate, Malda and Mr Arnab Ghosh, Superintendent of Police, Malda could not attend due to their election related busy schedule. The opening day was made memorable with the inauguration of the souvenir by the Principal, Dr Nazibar Rahaman which the first ever step in Malda District and this is the first ever offer by the Director of Public Instruction, West Bengal to Kaliachak College in its 24 years service after inception in 1995 for organizing the Games and Sports Championship 2018 – 2019. The Officials from the District Sports Association (DSA) Malda were engaged for holding the events on those three days. On 29th January the athletics for both boys and girls were completed where all 11 (Eleven) colleges took part. On 30th January Kho Kho was conducted and only Six colleges took part while on 31st January 10 colleges (Except Malda Womens’ College) took part in Foot Ball. All the players did well no problem arised. In athletics (Girls) Gour Mahavidyalaya was champion while Kaliachak College remained runners while Gour Mahavidyalalya and Samsi College remained champion and runners up respective in Boys athletics. In Kho Kho Gour Mahavidyalalya and Manikchak College were successful as champion and runners up. In Foot Ball Gour Mahavidyalalya and Pakuahat Degree College were successful as champion and runners up and in individual champion athletic male Md. Monirul Islam (Samsi College) scored the first position and in individual champion athletic women 3 athletic equally scored the first position i.e. Sokhina Khatun (Samsi College), Priya Gupta (Malda Women’s College) & Riya Gupta (Gour Mahavidyalaya). Prizes were handed over after the finishing of the events. All the participants, teachers, staff, officials from different colleges and institutions expressed happiness and bade thanks to the principal and staff of Kaliachak College for conducting the events in a very good way. In the valedictory function the principal of Kaliachak College expressed thanks to all the participants for well activities all the teaching & non-teaching staff of different colleges for co-operating and to the Director of Public Instruction Observer and Sports Convenor specially for their effort to make programme successful. Finally at the State Level the district of Malda won five medals among which three state champions and two third-position holder. The State Champions are Sonarul Islam in Broad Jump from Gour Mahavidyalaya, Biphal Basak in 800 Mtrs Race from Gour Mahavidyalaya and Bidu Chowdhury in Javelin Throw from Gour Mahavidyalaya. Jamal Ansari achieved Third Position in Javelin Throw from Gazole Mahavidyalaya and Riya Ghosh achieved Third Position in Shot Put from Gour Mahavidyalaya. Inter College State Sports & Games Championship 2018 – 2019 was held in three phases: 1. College level 2. District level and 3. State level. 1. COLLEGE LEVEL : KALIACHAK COLLEGE The sports committee of Kaliachak College headed by the Assistant Professor Ritabrata Goswami organized the college level sports on 04.01.2019. SYMBOL The symbol for the NSS has been based on the giant Rath Wheel of the world-famous Konark Sun Temple( Orissa, India). The wheel portrays the cycle of creation, preservation and release. It signifies the movement in life across time and space, the symbol thus stands for continuity as well as change and implies the continuous striving of NSS for social change. The eight bars in the wheel represents 24 hours of a day.

    THE WEST BENGAL COLLEGE SERVICE COMMISSION NOTICE FOR REQUISITION AGAINST VACANCY FOR THE POST OF PRINCIPAL __________________________________________________________________________________ The Authorities of all the Government-aided General Degree Colleges in West Bengal are hereby requested to submit the Requisition (in duplicate) in the prescribed format along with all the necessary documents (see note below) within 16/12/2019 against the vacancy for the post of Principal created by way of retirement, resignation, death, dismissal or approval of a new post by the Government. It is further requested to check the enlisted vacancy status (annexed herewith) for the post of Principal and discrepancy, if any, be brought to the notice of the Commission immediately. Note : Requisition (using PROFORMA 2019) along with Annexures must be submitted in two sets. Requisite Annexures : i) Relevant G.B resolution and ii) Copy of the G.O., if the post is newly created.
