Key features of the pandemic and infection control requirements, including limits on travel, self-isolation, quarantine, and social (physical) distancing measures, have led to major disruption on the entire function of the individual, household, village, city, country, and the whole world at present and all kinds of mobility. The catastrophic event has also severely affected the teaching-learning process as all kinds of educational institutions have been shut down since the onset of this wave of the virus. Obviously, all kinds of research in every discipline are severely disrupted by this pandemic. Being a social science and field-based subject, the effect of the pandemic can be found in Geography. The field-based geographical research has been affected by the fear of infection and lockdowns amid the COVID-19 pandemic. In this circumstance, the aim of this international webinar is to explore the alternatives to manage the pandemic situation and carry out the research smoothly in geography as well as other allied disciplines. The webinar would also likely find out the future management strategies of research in demography, economy, livelihood, tourism, environmental sustainability, etc. in the post- pandemic normal situation for which we are eagerly waiting. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year in 1969. On 24 September 1969, the then Union Education Minister V.K.R.V.Rao launched the NSS at universities and colleges in all states. The Motto of NSS "Not Me But You", reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self- less service. NSS helps the students to develop their moral character and serve the common people and theNation. SYMBOL The symbol for the NSS has been based on the giant Rath Wheel of the world-famous Konark Sun Temple( Orissa, India). The wheel portrays the cycle of creation, preservation and release. It signifies the movement in life across time and space, the symbol thus stands for continuity as well as change and implies the continuous striving of NSS for social change.
