In M Phil his subject for the dissertation was The Writings of Hurrish Ch Mookherjee in Hindoo Patriot in the context of the 1857 Revolt. Presently he is pursuing his Ph D on the Mutiny Novels in English. Before joining the University of Gour Banga he has worked as a Project Fellow in an UGC Project at the Dept of English, C U, and also as an Assistant Professor at Raiganj Surendranath Mahavidyalaya. He has contributed to journals like Victorian Periodicals Review, Journal of the Dept of English, C U, and also in edited volumes like Tagore and Modernity. He currently specializes in 19th century literature, especially fiction, Classical literature, Indian fiction in English and Literary Theory.
