How does the service work?

Data Roaming is the standardized service that enables two Mobile Operators to exchange end-user data trafﬁ c in a roaming scenario.

The Data Roaming services carry both 2G/3G user data

trafﬁc and 4G (LTE) user data trafﬁc in roaming scenarios.

In the case of 4G (LTE), the voice trafﬁ c generated and/or received by a user inroaming can be transported. This technique, known as VoLTE S8 Home Routed, or S8HR, is transparent to the IPX Provider, although the Carrier has to be enabled to provide the best quality.

IoT based on SIMs in Roaming also makes use of the previous capabilities to provide connectivity for their devices.
