In Native American culture, the word “medicine” means the healing, illumining and transforming power of the Great Spirit and Mother Earth – as manifested through the natural world. The custom of animal medicine refers to the healing aspects that a particular animal brings to our consciousness when it crosses our path. This would mean anything that supports, strengthens, restores, empowers or revives the spiritual, as well as the physical body. In particular, the eagle brings medicine of higher perspective and the wisdom to always stay connected to the Source.
This CD is an expression of the inspirations I have received during my many sojourns along the Potomac River north of Washington, DC, during which I’ve experienced the many blessings of nature. Each of these songs has a unique meaning for me personally; yet I hope that the vision behind the songs will provide joy and positive energy to others as well.
Eagle Medicine represents my second collaboration with Premik Russell Tubbs, whose immense talent is matched only by his dedication to giving these songs their fullest and deepest expression. I hope you enjoy Eagle Medicine as much as we enjoyed giving it birth.
