Increased urbanization has led to various issues in transport
Road congestion due to unsystematic growth in number of vehicles.
Poor public vehicle inspection mechanism, resulting in safety compromises.

New environment friendly buses in major cities
Pink Bus Service for female commuters and discount facility for students
Construction of new bus shelters and up gradation of existing bus depots to provide relief to commuters
Replacement of 2-stroke noisy auto rickshaws with environment friendly 4-stroke CNG auto rickshaws
Luring foreign investment, expanding the Transport sector and increasing employment in the sector
Free travelling cards for senior citizens and special/physically challenged person
Subsidy disbursement mechanism through e-ticketing to sustain the public transport. In city like Lahore, government is providing Rs.10.5/- per commuter as per following details:

Metro Rail (Orange Line)
Initiation of Metro Bus Services in Major Cities, making Pakistan amongst 36 countries who are using this sophisticated mode of transport.
Lahore Metro bus Service: Started in 2013. 27 Km long track with 27 stations. Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro bus Service: Started in 2015. 24 Km long track connecting twin cities, with 24 stations. Multan Metro bus Service (Under construction): 18.2 km long track connecting main commercial areas of the city.

Karachi Metro Bus Service: It will consist of 5 corridors and will have total length of about 109 kilometers.
Peshawar Metro Bus Service: 18.4 kilometer from Chamkani to Hayatabad area of Peshawar.

Transform the public transportation into comfortable, accessible and affordable sector. Few major steps towards the goal are:
Increasing share of Transport sector in tourism
Development of necessary transport related infrastructure
Integration of urban transport system for ease of commuting • Integration of various modes of transport • Fare Integration Introduction of Near Field Communication (NFC) cards to eliminate on board cash handling
Impart training to different transport enforcement agencies and provide awareness to public at large
Introduction of CCTV/ Enforcement equipment to monitor increasing traffic flow and regulate it effectively
Elimination of illegal three wheelers, provision of alternate mode of transport for the owners of three wheelers
