> Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport (23 km north of Paris by motorway A1)

• By train (RER B) Every day from 4:56 am to 11:56 pm, every 4 to 15 minutes, from the stations Roissypole and Terminal 2 to Châtelet-Les Halles. Estimated journey time (Paris airport shuttle + RER B) to Châtelet-Les Halles: 45 minutes. Tickets (about EUR 8) are sold at ticket counters and ticket machines in RER stations. Link to RER map

• By taxi The journey to the centre of Paris costs approximately EUR 40 during the day (7:00 am to 7:00 pm) and EUR 45 at night (7:00 pm to 7:00 am), on Sundays and bank holidays, in normal traffic conditions. For bulky luggage, a EUR 0.90 supplement per bag shall be required.

• By bus (Roissybus) Every day from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, every 15 to 20 minutes, to Opéra (rue Scribe, metro station Opéra, RER station Auber). Tickets (about EUR 8) are available from the driver. They are also sold at ticket counters and ticket machines in RER stations.

> Orly airport (14 km south of Paris by motorway A6)

• By train (Orlyval + RER B) Every day from 6:00 am to 11:00 pm, every 4 to 8 minutes, from West and South Terminals to the RER station Antony. Change at Antony. Take the RER B, every day from 5:08 am to 12:12 am, every 4 to 15 minutes, from Antony to Châtelet-Les Halles. Estimated journey time (Orlyval + RER B) to Châtelet-Les Halles: 35 minutes. Beauvais airport > (1h to Paris by motorway A16)

• By train From the train station in Beauvais, take a TER (regional express train) to the Gare du Nord station in Paris. Departures to Paris every day from 6.30 am to 8:00 pm, every 30 min to 1h30. The ticket costs just over EUR 10 one way. From Gare du Nord, take metro line 4 to Les Halles or RER B to Châtelet-Les Halles.

All rates are given for information only • By bus (special shuttle Beauvais/Paris-Porte Maillot) Only available to persons holding a valid airplane ticket. Every day, every 15 to 30 minutes after your flight arrival time. The shuttle bus leaves from the parking of the airport terminal and goes to Paris-Porte Maillot (1, Boulevard Pershing, Metro / RER Porte Maillot). From Paris-Porte Maillot, take metro line 1 to Palais-Royal Musée du Louvre.

A Parisian train station > Paris is just a few hours away by train from most cities in France and many in Europe. Do not forget to validate your ticket in the orange machines either in the main halls or at the front of the platform. Some stations are equipped with lockers to store your luggage: Gare du Nord, Gare de l’Est, Gare de Lyon, Gare d’Austerlitz and Gare Montparnasse. The maximum storage time is 72 hours; prices, identical in all stations, range from about EUR 3 to just over EUR 7 per day, depending on the size of the locker. Lockers are available from 6:30 am to 10:45 pm. Beware: lockers may temporarily be closed for security reasons.

Practical information

> Hotels The Banque de France enjoys preferential rates in certain hotels in the neighbourhood. Do not hesitate to ask your contacts at the Banque de France.

> Electricity In France, the electric current is 220V AC. The two-pin plugs used vary in diameter depending on the amperage.

> Currency exchange

The Banque de France does not change money. There is a bureau de change across the street, at 34 rue Croix des Petits Champs.
