We are the writers of feature films and television series. All of our work is done under union contracts whether it appears on Amazon Prime, a different streaming service, or a television network. Deadline Amazon accepts unions for entertainment workers, and we believe warehouse workers deserve the same respect in the workplace. We strongly urge all Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer to VOTE UNION YES. • CBS' 'Young Sheldon' Has Strongest Comedy Opening in Four Years
CBS' 'Young Sheldon' Has Strongest Comedy Opening in Four Years 09.26.2017 CBS' Young Sheldon, arguably the show most likely to succeed this season, came out of the gate with a big bang, debuting at a 3.7 rating among adults 18-49 and 16.6 million viewers. That's the most-watched premiere rating for a new comedy since 2 Broke Girls debuted in 2011 and the highest-rated since The Crazy Ones in 2013. That said, both of those shows have since been canceled, with 2 Broke Girls ending its run after last season and The Crazy Ones - which starred Sarah Michelle Gellar and the late, great Robin Williams as a daughter-father advertising team - failed to make it past season one. Young Sheldon debuted out of the show from which it's spun, The Big Bang Theory, and held almost all of its viewers. Big Bang, opening season 11, premiered at a 3.9 rating in the key demo and 17 million viewers. Young Sheldon was just teasing viewers with this early episode, however. It's not due to return until its official premiere on Nov. 2, after CBS completes its run of Thursday Night Football and the show can enter its regular time slot of Thursday at 8:30 p.m., behind The Big Bang Theory. Kevin Can Wait, starring Kevin James and featuring the arrival of Leah Remini among some viewer blowback, returned for season two at 9 p.m. with a 2.3 in the demo and 10.1 million viewers, while new sitcom Me Myself & I starring Bobby Moynihan and John Larroquette premiered at a 1.7 in the demo and 7.4 million viewers.

The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. • Employers Make No Improvement in Diversity Hiring in Episodic Television: DGA Report
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Sahar Moridani September 17, 2014 (310) 289-5333 Employers Make No Improvement in Diversity Hiring In Episodic Television: DGA Report ~Report shows hiring practices for first-time episodic directors perpetuate status quo~ LOS ANGELES – The Directors Guild of America today released a report analyzing the ethnicity and gender of directors hired to direct primetime episodic television across broadcast, basic cable, premium cable, and high budget original content series made for the Internet. The DGA analyzed more than 3,500 episodes produced in the 2013-2014 network television season and the 2013 cable television season from more than 220 scripted series. The report showed that: Caucasian males directed 69% of all episodes; Minority males directed 17% of all episodes; Caucasian females directed 12% of all episodes; and Minority females directed 2% of all episodes. 2013-2014 In Comparison With Previous Years Comparing figures for 2013-2014 with figures from 2012-2013, this year’s report shows that: The percentage of episodes directed by Caucasian males decreased from 72% to 69%; The percentage of episodes directed by minority males increased from 14% to 17%; The percentage of episodes directed by Caucasian females remained static at 12%; and The percentage of episodes directed by minority females remained static at 2%. While the statistics show no improvement in the percentage of episodes being directed by women, minority males directed 3% more episodes this year than in the previous year. However, closer analysis reveals that this increase can be entirely attributed to the high number of episodes directed by a single director, Tyler Perry, who directed all episodes of three television series that he also produced, accounting for the entire 3% gain.

  • Robin Williams Set up a 3-Part Trust Fund for His Kids Amid Money Troubles Before Death
Robin Williams Set Up A 3-Part Trust Fund For His Kids Amid Money Troubles Before Death Aly Weisman Entertainment Aug. 13, 2014, 12:12 AM Robin Williams with his family (from left to right): Sons Zach and Cody, ex-wife Marsha, and daughter Zelda at a screening of “House Of D” in 2004. Robin Williams reportedly didn‟t leave a note before taking his own life Monday, but the actor did have his finances in order. In 2009, Williams set up trust funds for his three children: Zachary, 31, Zelda, 25, and Cody, 22. TMZ obtained Williams‟ trust documents, which stated: “When each turned 21 they got 1/3 of the share. When they turned 25 they got half of what remained. When they turned 30 they each got their full share. The trust was not dependent on Robin‟s death. The kids received their money, although Cody and Zelda have not been paid in full because of their age.” While TMZ does not know the amount in the trusts, the site reports, “Robin had a significant amount of money outside the trust and his current wife, Susan Schneider, will almost certainly receive a significant amount.” Williams‟ net worth was once estimated to be near $130 million, but in 2013, he admitted to Parade magazine that he was on the verge of bankruptcy after two divorces — despite his films grossing more than $5.1 billion worldwide. “Divorce is expensive,” Williams, who was married to his third wife at the time of his death, explained to the mag. “I used to joke they were going to call it „all the money,‟ but they changed it to „alimony.‟ It‟s ripping your heart out through your wallet.” Williams reportedly paid his first two wives more than $30 million in combined divorce settlements, and according to Celebritynetworth, is currently worth around $50 million.
