David Amaya was a fashionable flamenco guitarist in the years when Spain boasted of Expo and the Olympic Games. For some reason, David Amaya tired of Spain, and of flamenco, and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina. There, on an electric guitar, he again accompanied the best musicians. But his life took a turn and one day, while playing soccer, he broke his hands. For almost two years David Amaya thought he’d never play the guitar again. He swore to himself that if his hands were cured he’d play flamenco again. Finding a flamenco guitar in Argentina isn’t easy, but David Amaya found one, in the back room of a shop in the Avenida de Mayo, in the central neighbourhood of Congreso, in Buenos Aires. There, David Amaya made another discovery: the incredible discovery of a community of gypsies of Andalusian origin, whose patriarchs emigrated to Argentina mainly during the Spanish post-war period, and which has preserved all its characteristic features.

Luisa Llorent, a well-known assessor of old mansions, disappears without a trace after being commissioned to go and value a legendary building; the mysterious Valdemar mansion. Maximilian, the president of the company she works for, contracts the services of the detective, Nicolás Tramel to find her. This is not the first disappearance. Enric Marco, ex-president of the Spain’s main deportees’ association, embarks on a car trip to Germany, a demythologising journey into his past. Two years earlier, a historian had shown that Enric Marco wasn’t the member of the Resistance he had claimed to be, and that he’d made up the stories of his experiences in a concentration camp that he had been recounting on television for years. Now, Marco retraces the route of his 1941 train journey as part of a convoy of workers sent by Franco to Hitler, in the middle of the Second World War. This trip, which will lead him to the Kiel prison where he would spend a year accused of spreading communist propaganda, before being absolved and returning to Spain, intersects with his oft-recounted imaginary journey at various points: from the French resistance to the concentration camps in cattle trucks — the fate suffered by thousands of exiled Spanish republicans after the Civil War. Almost inevitably, the trip and the film end at Flossenbürg concentration camp: the place he never set foot in during the war, the place where he forged himself as the survivor that he can't manage to leave behind.

A spectre is haunting late nineties' music: post-rock, a vague and fleeding shadow that some use as a category to put together bands that are not so easily keen to be group together, like Mogwai, Mouse on Mars, Tortoise and Piano Magic. As Introspective soon states, the only thing these "post-rockers" have in common is that their styles don't fit into any of the predetermined categories of the music industry or market. Born in Catalonia, Garriga takes advantage of Barcelona's central importance in the phenomenon (mainly because of its Sonar Festival) capturing its protagonists both on and off stage: a parade of true legends like Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore and Lee Ranaldo, Yo La Tengo's Ira Kaplan, former Spacemen 3 Jason Spierce (now Spiritualized), and Wilco's Jeff Tweedy, just to name a few. Fragments of a long interview with Zlaya, the historic producer of many of these artists, give structure to Garriga's search for the emotions, reasons, and obsessions hiding behind a label that - as many of them do - is more confusing than clear.

Lorenzo Da Ponte's life was the stuff of opera itself. Forced to convert from his Jewish faith to Christianity for the sake of a good marriage, he was trained as a priest, then took a mistress and fathered a child. Reprimanded by the authorities, he opened a brothel, which led to his banishment from Venice. Relocating to Vienna, he soon fell into the court, where the emperor, a lover of opera, paired him with Mozart. Inspired by Giacomo Casanova's exploits, Da Ponte persuaded Mozart that the adventurer should be the subject of his next opera. All Da Ponte had to do was look around him, and his characters were born. In addition to being pursued by a beautiful ingenue, he was simultaneously balancing the egos of his two divas of the moment – one the lover of the court composer Salieri, the other his own mistress. By listening to the ministrations of Casanova himself and keeping Mozart inspired, Da Ponte achieved the miraculous invention of Don Giovanni the opera.

Myna es una joven inmigrante ilegal venida de un País del Este

en conflicto bélico. La joven trabaja como asistenta para un

matrimonio y su hijo pequeño. Cuando los padres deciden salir

de viaje, dejan a su hijo y la casa a cargo de Myna, en la que

confían plenamente. Sin embargo, una noche el niño sufre un

grave accidente en la cabeza cuyo dolor va incrementando

paulatinamente. Myna, que sabe que la deportarán en cuanto

pise un hospital, decide ayudar al niño clandestinamente y a

contrarreloj pues esa misma noche, los padres vuelven de su

viaje.
