Acquire Land and Develop Parks • Acres Acquired: 26.67 Acres of Neighborhood/Community park property Gates Property 4.78 acres Parklane Park 19.44 acres Terrace Trails 2.44 acres • Wilkes Park development complete (1.49 acres) • development plans complete; construction to begin in Spring • Raymond Park development complete (5.67 acres)

Protect and Improve Natural Resources • Acquired 268 additional acres of natural area parkland including Campfire Property, 19.8 acres, Columbia Slough Natural Area, 156.3 acres, Nature Park, 22.46 acres, and Gentemann, 69.43 acres; • Columbia Slough Natural Areas: Continued control of invasive weeds and native plant revegetation on 30 acres in watershed with assistance from Columbia Slough Watershed Council and the BES Watershed Revegetation Program. • Revegetated of uplands at Spada site (PDC funding help) • Secured BES revegetation for screening buildings along Columbia Slough Trail • Mt Tabor Park: Improved natural drainage area (canyon) that had become degraded by dogs and mountain bike use and revegetated patches • Powell Butte: 1. Initiated new Integrated Pest Management Trials for Natural Areas 2. Obtained FEMA grant funding for preparation of wildfire modeling and prescribed burning plans and implementation of several on the ground wildfire hazard reduction projects 3. Removed invasive species and replanted natives

Expand and Develop Recreation Facilities and Programs • East Portland Community Center aquatics facility is being designed; construction 2006 – 2007

Develop Park Access, Trails and Connections • Columbia Slough Trails sections complete (Catellus, Spada = 4,050 linear feet) [determine if we want to include what Rod has under construction now or enter that in next round] • Marine Drive Trail sections complete (Catellus, Spada = 1,300 linear feet) • Worked with PSU students studying Springwater trail usage and identity in Lents; Grant for Springwater trailhead feasibility has been received
