Jaarverslag 2019 Dit verslag biedt een analyse van de acties die screen.brussels fund vzw heeft ondernomen om zijn doelstellingen te verwezenlijken. Het bestaat uit vijf grote hoofdstukken: 1. Herhaling van de doelstellingen en taken van screen.brussels fund 2. Balans van de investeringen in de producties 3. Balans van de uitgevoerde acties 4. Boekhoudkundige balans 2019 Dit jaar staat meer bepaald in het teken van de consolidatie van de databases met professionals uit de audiovisuele sector en van de lancering van een platform om de aanvragen voor fondsen elektronisch te kunnen indienen. Dit jaar kenmerkt zich ook door de betaling van de subsidies in vele schijven (verkiezingsjaar). 1 screen.brussels fund vzw – Balans jaar 2019 1. Herhaling van de doelstellingen en taken 1.1. Context Op 2 mei 2016 lanceerde het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest zijn nieuwe strategie die moest zorgen voor een betere toegankelijkheid van het Brusselse audiovisuele aanbod voor alle Brusselse, Belgische en internationale betrokkenen. Deze strategie werd met name concreet door de oprichting van het overkoepelende merk screen.brussels. Dit bestaat uit 4 entiteiten: - screen.brussels film commission (het voormalige Brussels Film Office, onder leiding van visit.brussels) - screen.brussels cluster (de sectorale cluster, ondergebracht bij hub.brussels) - screen.brussels business (financiering van Brusselse audiovisuele bedrijven via finance.brussels) - screen.brussels fund (het Brusselse coproductiefonds) 1.2. Doelstellingen Het doel van de vzw screen.brussels binnen deze organisatie is de ontwikkeling en promotie van de audiovisuele sectoren in het Brussels Hoofdstedelijk Gewest, en de organisatie van alle taken die verband houden met de visuele sectoren in het algemeen. -

2 Biographie d’Henri Storck Henri Storck a traversé toute l'histoire du septième art, passant du muet au parlant, de l'expérimental au film de commande. Il est reconnu comme l'un des pionniers du cinéma belge et un incontournable du documentaire, notamment avec Misère au Borinage – co- réalisé avec Joris Ivens en 1933 –, devenu un classique du cinéma du réel dans ce qu'il a de plus engagé et inspiré de nombreux cinéastes. A Cannes, les frères Dardenne lui ont d’ailleurs rendu hommage lors de la remise de la Palme d’Or pour leur film Rosetta. Il est aussi l'un des pionniers du film sur l'art, son travail innovant sur Rubens (1948), lui valut le Grand prix du documentaire au Festival de Venise en 1949. Henri Storck a également joué dans deux films-clés de l'histoire du cinéma (Zéro de conduite, 1933, de Jean Vigo et Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du commerce, 1080 Bruxelles, 1975, de Chantal Akerman). Henri Storck perd son père à l’âge de seize ans et doit interrompre ses études secondaires pour aider sa mère dans le magasin de chaussures familial. Il découvre la littérature française moderne et se prend de passion pour Max Jacob. Il fréquente les peintres Ensor, Permeke et Spilliaert, dessine et a pour ambition de faire, grâce au cinéma, une œuvre plastique en mouvement. Bouleversé par une projection de Moana de Robert Flaherty en 1927, il crée l’année suivante un ciné-club à Ostende. Il réalise en 1929 son premier film, Images d'Ostende, « choc poétique et cinétique, sans fiction ni son, qui dégage le cinéma de son obligation narrative pour le rendre au monde des sensations que lui seul peut porter. -

I declare that my thesis consists of 99,843 words. 2 ABSTRACT The thesis discusses the trajectory of the Belgian socialist thinker and activist Hendrik de Man (1885-1953) between 1914 and 1936 ca, with particular attention to his endeavours to renew Western European social democracy after the Great War. The first half of the thesis deals with de Man’s theoretical evolution. Having become convinced of the inadequacy of orthodox Marxism as a conceptual framework for the Left while serving as soldier and diplomat during WWI, de Man sought to overcome the split between reformism and revolutionary socialism by developing an ethical conception of socialism outlined in the book Zur Psychologie des Sozialismus (1926) and, subsequently, by elaborating planism, a democratic socialist ideology supposedly more in tune with the socio-economic conditions of the 1930s. -
