FANNY CLAMAGIRAND,

First Prize winner of the 2007 Monte Carlo Violin Masters, acclaimed as the “Adami Classical Revelation 2006”, First Prize F. Kreisler in 2005 in Vienna, Emily Anderson Prize of the Royal Philharmonic Society in 2004 in London, Special Jury Prize Y. Menuhin in 2000. Fanny has established herself as an artist of great distinction on the international stage and is considered to be one of the best violinist of her generation. Her talent and commitment are supported by many foundations including the Fondation Safran pour la Musique (Paris). She is also supported by Vladimir Spivakov and Anne- Sophie Mutter.

Born in 1984, Fanny started playing the violin at the age of seven. Already two years later she showed on stage a musical expression stamped with an unusual maturity. Fanny has this rare ability to " shape the melodic lines in an infinite limpidity of sound and clarity of the execution into all details", Die Rheinlandpfalz.

Studies with L. Kolos, J.J. Kantorow’s postgraduate course at the CNSMPD (Paris Conservatory) in 2000, I. Rashkovsky at London’s Royal College of Music, where she was awarded her “Artist’s Diploma” (2004). Additional studies with P.Vernikovin and O. Semchuk, and master classes with Ida Haendel, Zakhar Bron, Michèle Auclair, Boris Kushnir, Donald Weilerstein, and Jean-Claude Pennetier.

Fanny has made her mark on the most prestigious international venues and festivals such as Wigmore and Royal Festival Halls in London, Austria, Switzerland, USA and Japan, Gaveau and Auditorium du Louvre in Paris, leading festivals in France, Bilbao, Tokyo, Haydn Festspiele, Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, Lockenhaus Kammermusikfest, Israel Festival, “Spring of Minsk”, “Palaces of Saint Petersburg”,Verbier Academy and Festival,

Fanny has performed as soloist with all leading orchestras in France, renown orchestras in Poland, Israel, Germany, Sweden Italy, and Austrian orchestras like Wiener Symphoniker, Wiener Kammerorchester and Wiener Philharmoniker. She collaborates with artists like Jean-Jacques Kantorow, Juraj Valcuha, Tugan Sokhiev, Pietari Inkinen, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Gidon Kremer, Jean-Frédéric Neuburger, Khatia Buniatishvili, Igor Tchetuev, Gary Hoffman, Pieter Wiespelwey and Ysaÿe String Quartet.

Her first CD, dedicated to the complete Violin Solo Sonatas by Eugène Ysaÿe and released in 2007 for Nascor, has been highly acclaimed by the press. The complete Saint- Saëns Violin Concertos (SinfoniaFinlandia/P. Gallois) recorded under Naxos and released in November 2010 has been awarded a « Choc » from the French musical magazine Classica (February 2011). Next recording project is all Saint-Saëns' works for violin and piano with pianist Vanya Cohen for the Naxos label.

In 2010, Fanny collaborated with famous Japanese danceer and choreographer Saburo Teshigawara in « Obsession », performing live Ysaÿe solo sonatas.

Engagements in 2011/12 included her debut at the Toppan Hall in Tokyo with « Mutter’s Virtuosi » and Anne- Sophie Mutter, future engagements are scheduled in France, Denmark, Ireland, Sweden, Japan and South America in addition to several festivals. Moreover, 2011-2012 featured Fanny’s debuts with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra at the Lucerne and Enescu Festivals, performing Mozart Sinfonia Concertante with Antoine Tamestit under the baton of Franz Welser-Möst, and with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in Eastbourne and Brighton with conductor Fabien Gabel.
