 Decision taken after June 2004 SteamRail.Net Meeting at Derby and visit to York NRM FestRail  Mayor of Agria persuaded to request from OSE re-opening during Olympic Games  Prefect of and Mayor of Volos also express agreement with the request  OSE agreed on 5 August 2004 with opening date 12 August!  Works started immediately  It was necessary to clear the line from vegitation and also from new paving and construction work as well as tarmac, street furniture, signs and electricity poles!  Mayor of Agria, OSE Chief Engineer and PRPS volunteers involved  Line ready on 11 August 2004  Schedules prepared by PRPS Volunteers

Re-opening of Anavros (Volos) – Agria Coastal Section

 Official (re) opening on 12 August 2004  National publicity coverage  Festival atmosphere  SteamRail.Net covered the entire event  Trains run till end September 2004 with 5 departures per day each way  2005: Line re-operated during Summer 2005 at weekends (Friday-Sunday); last journey was on 1 October for FEDECRAIL Council  2006: Opening on 20 May 2006 for SteamRail.Net
