It’s the 155th anniversary of Jack Miner’s birthday! There will be lots of great events here at the Jack Miner Sanctuary. SPRING 2020 Our big day will be Sunday April 5. The day starts with VOLUME 9 | ISSUE 1 Breakfast with Honker. The afternoon will have kids’ crafts and stories and guided tours of the house and museum. During the week, we will have a songbird presentation, a trivia quiz, children’s crafts a birthday celebration for Jack and ends with the Sportsman yard sale on April 11. Other events may be added.

For three days in December, the Jack Miner Migratory Bird Sanctuary had all the sights, sounds and smells of Do you love meeting new people? How about history? a Country Christmas. The Sanctuary welcomed Emma as a co-op student for Photo: X. Campbell 16 weeks from January to April. She is a university student studying environment, resources and sustainability and will assist with programming and New Project nature projects during her stay with us. Xander is a repeat high school coop student who will be assisting Viewing Platform with nature projects from February to June.

The viewing platform which overlooks the south pond by the gazebo is now ready for use. In the near future, the platform will feature interpretive panels about the wildlife found in the woods and the waterfowl and songbirds on the property.
