On March 2 in Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula, the "Anti-Communist Youth Organization of Honduras" distributed hundreds of leaflets containing a death threat against Ramon Custodio, president of the Honduran Human Rights Committee (CODEH). The leaflet also read, "The only good communist is a dead communist." According to Custodio who reportedly has left Honduras after receiving numerous death threats , the Anti-Communist Youth group does not formally exist, but rather serves as a cover for death squads. Custodio has accused rightist death squads of murdering several leaders of popular organizations. (Basic data from Notimex, 03/02/89)
