PAGE O N E 1. LABELING INSTRUCTIONS • This Package Engineering Standard establishes a standardized format for identifying parts and unit packaged product for Mopar. • These labels are required on all parts packaged for Mopar with the exception of packages that incorporate the label into the design. • All Mopar “L-Series” unit labels must be purchased from the single source supplier RR Donnelley. Direct all requests to [email protected].

1.1 No Packaging Required Parts • If parts do not require unitized packaging, they must be identified with a “L-Series” label and follow the outlined labeling requirements.

• Acceptable Methods: • Direct application - The label must securely adhere to the surface of the part. • Envelopes, bags, pouches, cartons, etc. - Items requiring identification which are so small that they cannot be identified in any other manner, may be bulk / masterpacked in cartons, bags, envelopes, pouches, cohesive or heat sealable material. The part number and quantity shipped must be placed on the shipping container (AIAG label). • Bundling - Bundling in lieu of a bulk container is only permitted when the quantity ordered is less than one half the full shipping container quantity for a given part number or when the part exceeds ninety-two (92) inches in length. Bundles must not exceed fifty (50) pounds. • Wire Tag - A tag attached with a wire may be used for “L-Series” label application. Tag material can be: metal, , cloth, or paper (manila index stock). Metal tags must have corners blunted. • Exemptions - Parts shipping to 03116 to be e-coated are exempt from this requirement. The part number and quantity shipped MUST be placed on the shipping container i.e. rack, basket, box (AIAG shipping label). If more than one part is to be shipped in the same container, the parts must be separated and at least one part is to be identified with the individual part number (NO directly applied labels allowed). The methods that are acceptable are embossing, ink stamping, or molding as applicable. There should be no more than 3 different part numbers per container, metal tub, or rack. All parts must be accessible from the open container (no layering).

• Application: The application selected must not have a deleterious effect on the life and utility of the item. • “Flag Tape” Method - Wrap identification tape strip around part and adhere label to itself. • Each shipping container must be clearly marked with the quantity contained, part number, barcode, supplier code, and date code.

2. LABEL ELEMENTS • Labels come preprinted with Mopar Racing Stripe logo and Federal Mandated Content Statement. • Imprinting must be black.

3. LABEL SIZES • There are two standard label sizes; L6060 (60 x 60mm) and L6045 (60 x 45mm). • Selection of label size should be in proportion to the size of the package. • Use L-21 for decorative cartons with Mopar graphics.

PKGENGF0024 REV30 ISSUED: 08/16/18 STATUS: APPROVED https://ps.nafta.extra.fcagroup.com/sites/MPE/ PAGE: 2 of 16 4. 3 OF 9 BARCODE • The 3 of 9 barcode is used for scanning part numbers within the Mopar distribution and dealership network. • The 3 of 9 barcode has an area of 1/4“ void, side and side and 1/16” top and bottom.

4.1 Barcode Symbology • Barcode shall conform to the Barcode Symbology Standard for 3 of 9 Barcodes published by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG-B10). Document available on Mopar Package Engineering website. 4.2 Code Configuration - Secondary Part Number • The four (4) characters ($, /, +, % ) or spaces shall not be used on the 3 of 9 symbology of Mopar labels. • The barcode should identify the part number and quantity only. • Secondary part numbers are always 10 digits/characters and quantity is always 3 digits. (i.e. 1=001) • Be sure the correct letters and numbers are consistently used, for example using the number “0” instead of the letter “O” where applicable. 4.3 Code Configuration - FCA US Part Number • The four (4) characters ($, /, +, % ) or spaces shall not be used on the 3 of 9 symbology of Mopar labels. • The barcode should identify the part number only. • Mopar part numbers are always 8 or 10 digits/characters. • Be sure the correct letters and numbers are consistently used, for example using the number “0” instead of the letter “O” where applicable. 4.4 Quality Assurance Requirements • It is the responsibility of the supplier to provide barcode labels that meet these specifications. • Equipment must be available to verify that barcode symbols meet these requirements. • The use of statistical process control techniques to minimize variability is recommended. • When scanned, top barcode must read the part number and quantity, and bottom barcode must read part number only. • The barcode must scan within the Mopar distribution and dealership network. • Nonconformance to these requirements will result in rework charges.
