July Intensive Workshop July 12 – July 30, 2021

For students new to Chamberlain School of , placement classes can be arranged during March, April, or May. All others will be placed on the first day of the workshop. Please call the office to arrange a placement class or to register: (972) 985-1374.

Tuition: To ensure placement in a workshop, a non-refundable deposit of $100 (plus a $35 registration fee for new students) is due by April 30, 2021. The non-refundable deposit will be applied towards the tuition. Please call the office for class availability (972) 985-1374. Classes are limited in space due to COVID restrictions.

Dress Code: Female: Female dancers are to wear black leotard, pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Intermediate and advanced dancers can wear colored leotards. Skirts are allowed for pointe and variation classes. Hair must be neatly secured in a bun. Short hair must be secured away from face.

Male: Male dancers are to wear black tights, white t-shirt and black or white ballet shoes

*Stretch & Conditioning Classes: Students will need a Yoga mat, TheraBand, and Stretch Out Strap (NON-stretchy).

Guest Teachers

Melissa Reed is originally from Amherst, New Hampshire, where she began her early training at Bedford Dance Center and continued at Southern NH Dance Theater. At age 15, she was invited to attend the Harid Conservatory on a full-tuition scholarship, where she studied with Svetlana Osiyeva, Victoria Schneider, and Olivier Pardina. Upon graduating, Melissa spent two seasons with North Carolina Dance Theatre, under the direction of Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux and Patricia McBride, before dancing for one season at Richmond Ballet and as a guest artist at Eglevsky Ballet in Long Island, NY with Laszlo Berdo. In 2012, Melissa joined The Ballet, based at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., where she danced for six seasons. With TSFB, she toured around the United States and to the in Muscat, Oman. Reed has performed featured roles in classical such as Paquita, , , and . Her repertoire also includes numerous Balanchine ballets, such as , Danses Concertantes, Divertimento No. 15, Emeralds, Chaccone, Gounod Symphony, Brahms-Shoenberg Quartet, , , Movements for Piano and Orchestra, and , among others. Additionally, Melissa spent seven years working as a faculty member with Boston Ballet School, working primarily within the Program. She has served as the Assistant Children’s Ballet Mistress for Boston Ballet company productions, staging children’s roles in ’s Coppélia, Mikko Nissinen’s The Nutcracker, and Sir Frederick Ashton’s . Melissa has also completed Boston Ballet School’s 16-hour Adaptive Dance training course for individuals with disabilities, and has taught for their educational outreach program Citydance.

Originally from Houston, Texas, Isabel Wallace- Green began dancing at Academy where she studied for nine years. She attended summer programs at Boston Ballet School, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Abraham.In.Motion, and Rockettes Summer Intensive before graduating summa cum laude from Fordham University/The Ailey School with a BFA in Dance and African/African American Studies. She has performed with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater during two seasons at New York City Center, New Chamber Ballet, Urban Souls Dance Company, and was an Ensemble member of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Isabel is currently in her first season with Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s DBDT: Encore. Isabel is also passionate about sharing her craft with young artists; she has served on faculty at various dance schools throughout NYC and TX. In addition, she worked as a Teacher’s Assistant at Houston Ballet Academy and The Ailey School Junior Division. Isabel is excited to join the Chamberlain School of Ballet community!
