www.space1326.com 1 Founded in 2012 with support of Changwon city, Space 1326 has been presenting emerging talented artists both About Space 1326 in the regional and international art markets. The gallery collaborates and cooperates with numerous young artists including seven major artists and thirty artists nationwide.

Space 1326 has been committed to introducing Korean modern art to international audience through participating in multiple international art fairs. The gallery has represented Korean artists’ current work across all media at international art fairs held in Hong Kong, Amsterdam, and Hamburg.

The program continues to expand on presentation of growing Korean artists in the worldwide art world. Also, the gallery endeavors to serve as a platform for interaction between original artists and audience.

3 Rapid advance of science and technology benefited human with more convenient and affluent life, yet brought about Biography Choi Han Jin social problems as well. Choi Hanjin explores the discourses on scientific development and social changes through the concept of ‘cyborg’, a hybrid of humanity and technology. Throughout the artist’s oeuvre, a cyborg represents modern time and suggests prediction of future.

The ‘cyberpunk’ series visualises the interaction between the humanity and technology. The text, symbols and lights that reference evolution of communications technology are incorporated to ready-made helmet or gas mask which resembles the human head. Furthermore, the helmet motif addresses human’s response to current environmental pollution―exhaust gas emission, radioactive matter, global warming― caused by scientific development.
