Overview Youjiang Medical University for Nationalities (YMUN) has grown out of Baise Medical College founded in 1958.In 1978 it was upgraded to undergraduate medical college and its name was changed to Youjiang Medical University of Nationalities.YMUN is one of the government Universities under the administration of Education Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is recognized by W.H.O, IMED and approved by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council. In 2008, it was awarded as the Excellent University in Undergraduate Education by Education Ministry of China owing to the outstanding achievements in the qualification assessment for institution of higher education. The University is located in Baise, a city 200 kilometers west of Nanning, the capital of Guangxi. The railway, highway, Baise Airport and Youjiang River makes Baise very accessible. The University enrolled about 15577 full-time students. It has a staff of 2200 members, of which 300 are Professors and Associate Professors. The University comprises 7 colleges and 10 departments offering, 54 teaching sections, 18 laboratories, and 23 research institutes. To ensure that the graduates are at high level, the University has revised the style of teaching and the content. The aim of which is not only to enrich the students’ knowledge, but also to cultivate the students’ practical abilities and all-round development. The courses are run to make certain that only the competent students graduate. Since the founding of the University, over 30, 000 students have graduated. Many of them have made outstanding performances in their fields. The University enjoys high prestige in the area and beyond. The MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery) program in Youjiang Medical University for Nationalities is a medical education program specifically designed for international students who wish to pursue a medical bachelor degree in China. The composition of M.B.B.S. program is fully under the guideline of ‘Provisional Regulations on Quality Control Standards of Undergraduate Medical Education for International Students and Global Minimum Essential Requirements in Medical Education’. The overall goal is to develop extensive medical knowledge and laid a solid foundation for their further studies in any medical branch for medical graduates. Special requirements of other countries where most students originally come from are also taken into account. The M.B.B.S. curriculum is organized in a disciplinary setting based on a school’s existing undergraduate medical education program and composed of two stages, pre- clinic and clinic stage.

Hostel
Overseas students can choose to live in the overseas student dormitories in the students’ living area. The university provides accommodation to the international students. Single room, two persons, three persons or four persons share a room with air conditioner, heater, attached bathroom, color TV, telephone, bed with required amenities and furniture, free hot drinking water heater, internet access, public laundry and kitchen. Students are required to pay the electricity and water they used. The hostels are given good protection by security agencies and police booths in the University.
