The National Waste Management Strategy of the Republic of Serbia for the period 2010-2019 is the principal document which provides conditions for rational and sustainable waste management in the Republic of Serbia. The Strategy implies an improvement in the quality of life of the population and includes the field of higher education. The issues of waste management, as a part of sustainable development and the EU directives, constitute a challenge which requires a multidisciplinary approach.
