TELENOR FOUNDATION ANNUAL REPORT ON BUSINESS OPERATIONS IN 2016

INTRODUCTION

By supporting and initiating projects, Telenor Foundation contributes to the development of the society, following the strategic direction of action. All activities are realized in cooperation with partners, with the support of various teams.

The actions are based on the idea of creation of digital solutions, with a clear goal of overcoming the current social challenges of .

Through promotion of positive aspects of the Internet, Telenor Foundation affects reduction of digital bullying. At the same time, trying to provide education and help to strengthen the capacity of young people, their parents and teachers to make the Internet a positive experience.

The contribution of the Foundation is also reflected in resolving social, educational, cultural and health needs at the national level, general ecological development, as well as solving problems caused by natural disasters.

Transparent partnerships are made with state institutions and non-profit organizations in accordance with the procedures regulated by the Statute. All interested humanitarian organizations, non-governmental organizations, institutions and foundations registered in Serbia have the right to participate in the Open Call for Proposals. Open Calls are current twice a year. The competent team assesses and selects the ideas received according to clear criteria, which are then submitted to the Board of Directors of the Telenor Foundation. The decision on support of the ideas is within the BoD meeting. All partners are obliged to submit a report on the course of the project and a detailed overview of its results.

STRUCTURE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Management Board of Telenor Foundation has five members, out of which two are representatives of Company Telenor. Chairman of the Telenor Foundation Managing Board is Ingeborg Øfsthus, Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Serbia. Since 1998, Ingeborg has held several technology management positions in Telenor Operations in Germany, Thailand and Norway. In addition, she has worked in various Telenor Group positions, including establishing and leading Telenor Group CTO forum. She has been with Telenor Serbia since 2012, holding CTO position.Ingeborg has experience with starting two greenfield mobile operations, and has built up extensive experience across both network and IT domain in her various roles. Ingeborg holds a degree of Master of Science in Electronic Communications from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Years of experience in a various countries added valuable knowledge on working across multiple cultures.

Marija Vujanić, Communications and Sustainability Director, Telenor ltd. With more than 15 years of working in public relations and CR area, Marija is experienced communication leader. She has been with Telenor for 3 years, leading Corporate Communications and External Affairs Department. Prior these assignment, Marija was working for years as a Client Service Director at one of the leading PR agency in Serbia, than appointed as a PR and Citizenship Lead in Microsoft Serbia, and also was Executive Director of Ecotopia Fund focused on sustainability.

Darinka Radojević, Kirilo Savić Institute - CEO Advisor for the environment. Ms. Darinka Radojević holds MBA degree from Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, University of . During the years she gained valuable experience in business and education sector, 2

and is specialised in coordination of multidisciplinary projects, cooperation with government institutions, local self-government and civil society. As a Head of the Group for Sustainable Development within the office of vice president of European Integration Office Ms. Radojević gain experience in the fields of environment and sustainable development, and in the period from 2008 to July 2011 she was the Secretary of the Council for Sustainable Development.

Vladimir Bumbaširević, Rector of the . Professor Bumbaširević́ is a full professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Belgrade and as of 2009 member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, member of different national and international medical associations, author of over 70 scientific papers, co-author and editor of 2 books and 3 monographs. Except in scientific work, the rich experience gained he applied in active participation in a large number of European projects (TEMPUS, FP6, etc.).

Robert Čoban, President of the Color Press Group, started his journalistic career as correspondent of the Belgrade “Večernje novosti“; “Arena“ and Sarajevo “Naši dani“. Today he is a head of Color Press Group, largest publisher of magazines in the region, with companies in all six republics - 64 magazines, 11 internet portals and over 50 conferences a year. The company portfolio includes numerous licensed names: “The Economist“, “Hello!“, “Brava Casa“, “Bravo“, “Alan Ford“, “Grazia“, “Jamie Oliver Magazine“ and number of others.

Manager of Telenor Foundation is Milica Begenišić, Sustainability and Events Manager at Telenor ltd. While working in various sectors of the company, from 2001, when she entered the telecommunications industry, Milica gained rich experience. From customer service through marketing to corporate communications, she cooperated with a number of external associates and government institutions. Over the years, through the organization of corporate events she actively participated in the initiation and implementation of CR projects of Telenor and Telenor Foundation.

FIELDS OF WORK

All activities of Telenor Foundation are directed to 4 basic areas:

• Youth, their education and professional advancement • Socially vulnerable groups • Development of cultural production and art market • Environmental protection

Engagement of the Foundation is not related only to financial assistance, but also using capacities and knowledge, striving to contribute to the successful implementation of the project offering effective, sustainable and developmental solutions on the territory of Serbia.

Foundation is acting in various fields striving to achieve one goal focused on helping Serbian society to move forward and develop.

REVIEW OF THE PROJECT ACTIVITIES IN FIELDS OF WORK

In 2016, Telenor Foundation initiated and supported 8 projects and cooperated with 18 partner organisations.

4.1 Project Activities and Achieved Results – Category Youth and Education

 Cyber Dictionary

In order to educate elementary school students on safe behaviour on the Internet, Telenor Foundation organised an event entitled “Cyber Dictionary”, in March 2016. 4000 fifth and sixth grade students of the of elementary schools from Belgrade attended this music-scenic event, which was organised in partnership with the company Huawei and supported by the Ministry for Education, Science and Technological Development, Ministry of the Interior and UNICEF.

With music and jokes, many stars from the world of music, TV and sports, introduced the students with ways how to be safe online. Think before you post, don’t believe in everything that’s written, was the main motto and song of the event. Together with other participants, they were telling children about “liking”, “emoticons” and other terms from the Cyber Dictionary intended for the youngest users of social networks.

Many celebrities and sports stars, that were not present, addressed the youngest in video messages, telling them that it’s important to be careful and observe the rules on the Internet.

 Girls in ICT Day

As part of the Girls Day project, the International Day of Girls in Information and Communication Technologies was celebrated. The goal of the project is empowering girls in choosing their future professions, avoiding stereotypes and encouraging the choice led by personal interests and talents.

On the occasion of the Girls in ICT Day in Telenor premises, a round table was organized on the topic "Inclusion of Girls Into the World of ICT and Entrepreneurship". Representatives of Telenor, Association of Business Women of Serbia, various ministries, socially responsible companies, women ambassadors in Serbia, YouTube stars and girls from elementary schools were present at this event.

At the very beginning of the event, awards were given to the winners of the "Catch the Idea" competition, within which girls showed the skills to present creative ideas on how to make a pocket money through YouTube videos. The competition preceded the event and was organized with the aim to initiate entrepreneurial thinking among girls of the seventh and eighth grades of elementary schools. First place went to Vasilisa Vidaković, seventh grade student of the "Sveti Sava" primary school from Belgrade.

This year's Girls in ICT Day also included visits of different companies, so fifteen 8th grade girls of elementary school Radoje Domanović visited various sectors of Telenor and talked with women in leading positions, who brought the closer view of the company and transferred valuable personal and professional experiences.

 “Prof. Dr Ilija Stojanovic” Awards

Graduates with outstanding academic record of the Telecommunications Department, the authors of the best papers of the TELFOR 2016, as well as the authors of the best paper published in the international magazine, were extended the “Prof. Dr Ilija Stojanović” Award.

As part of the official academy on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, Nevena Stefanović, CHRO of Telenor, presented the awards on behalf of Telenor Foundation.

The best graduate students for 2015/16 school year are Bojana Ćurčić - Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade, Isidora Šašić - Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad and Jovana Stojković - Faculty of Electronics in Niš.

Authors of the awarded expert papers of TELFOR 2016 Conference are Ana Z. Bogdanović, Andrija Z. Gajić, Nada Janković and Miloš Đ. Ćapin, whereas Nebojša Vojnović, Branka Jokanović, Miloš Radovanović, Medina Francisco and Mesa Francisco are winners of the award for the best expert paper published in an international magazine (Modelling of Non-resonant Longitudinal and Inclined Slots for Resonance Tuning in ENZ Waveguide Structures).

4.2 Project activities and achieved results – category socially vulnerable groups

 Support for the BELhospice team at the Belgrade Marathon

Running shoulder to shoulder with the volunteers of the BELhospice center, Telenor Foundation helped the building of the first day-care centre for cancer patients. More than 250 employees and family members made up Telenor’s team on the Belgrade Marathon.

As a support, employees of Telenor, being a part of the large BELhospice team, participated in the Fun Run and thus helped equipping the first centre for day care and education of patients and their family members. The opening of this centre aims at raising the quality of life of oncological patients whose symptoms of the disease can’t be controlled at home.

 “Be a Part of Good Communication”

Believing that new technologies and digital solutions can contribute significantly to the quality of life of deaf and impaired hearing persons in Serbia, during 2016, a series of activities within the project "Be a part of Good Communication" was realized.

Owing to the project, the children staying in the Home for Children and Youth with Hearing Impairments in Belgrade, as well as the children in the School Centre with Students’ Home “Dositej Obradović” in Subotica, received computers and internet access. They were thus provided with easier and faster Internet access, education, communication and the possibility to browse the web.

Children of the Home for Children and Youth with Impaired Hearing, which is part of the Centre for Accommodation and Day Care of Disabled Children and Youth, got eight computers. The Home exists since 1958 and currently accommodates 52 children.

The same number of computers was given to the Students’ Home at the School Centre “Dositej Obradović” in Subotica. School Centre in Subotica covers the Northern part of Vojvodina and is providing accommodation and education for children with impaired hearing from the neighbouring municipalities. There are about 100 children in the Home.

In the scope of the project of total social inclusion of deaf and impaired hearing persons in erbia, Telenor Foundation have supported the humanitarian action of Blic Foundation, whose goal was to provide to all maternity wards in Serbia with devices for early detection of 5

hearing loss in new-born babies. Telenor Foundation early hearing screening devices for three maternity wards in Serbia - Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Clinical Center of Serbia, as well as for the maternity wards in Smederevo and Kikinda.

A campaign was also launched in order to raise the awareness about the challenges deaf people encounter in their everyday lives and access to the Telecentre, as the first online translation centre for sign language on the Balkans, was enabled in all Telenor stores across the country. Our employees have received a detail manual on how to communicate with deaf persons, in accordance with the guidelines of the City Organization of Deaf Persons. A special tariff plan was introduced, which includes sufficient data and text messages, adapted to the needs of that community

Project "Be Part of Good Communication" also inspired the creation of a unique application "Talking Hands" for getting acquainted with and understanding the Serbian and International Sign Language (IS). The application was created in the form of a dictionary of the essential terms, in order for everyone to be familiarized with sign language, but also to help in communication with international tourists. It is available in Serbian and English language and it also includes a quiz.

Also, a campaign has been launched to raise awareness of the challenges deaf people face in their everyday lives, and access to Telecenter as the first online translation service for the sign language in the Balkans is enabled in all Telenor stores throughout the country.

 “Meals on Wheels”

Telenor Foundation supported the project of the Association for Supporting Developmentally Disabled “Our home”. This project involves the creation of a digital service intended for young people with intellectual disabilities engaged in the "Meals on Wheels" project, which aims to employ this group of people.

The young people who are working on this project provide daily hot meals, which are delivered to home addresses of the elderly, infirm and people with mobility problems, unable to prepare their own food. Within this project, 12 young people are employed, who deliver daily 80 hot meals.

Developed digital service, helps the young with intellectual disabilities in recognition of banknotes and thus make it easier for them to carry out their daily activities.

According to the official data, less than 3% of the disabled persons are employed, and that number mostly includes persons with physical and sensory disabilities. Development of digital applications provides a significant contribution to the expansion of the list of potential jobs which can be performed by persons with developmental disabilities.

 HISPA (mHealth)

Every other inhabitant of Serbia dies of heart or brain stroke, and our country is in the very top world ranks by the number of patients with heart problems. Due to stress, hectic way of life and improper diet, the number of young people with hypertension problems, i.e. high blood pressure, is growing, which is one of the main preconditions for the incidence of cardio- vascular diseases.

HISPA, the first mobile application in the intended for the education about cardiovascular diseases and the prevention thereof was presented at the International Congress of Cardiologists in Belgrade. With the help of a smartphone, the app allows the 6

calculation of one’s individual cardiovascular risk and finds advice how to minimize the risk from cardiac arrest or stroke. With the help of the Telenor Foundation, the application was developed by the experts from the HISPA association, which includes 1200 doctors and medical personnel from across Serbia. The application if free, intended for doctors or patients, and it’s available both for Android and iOS, in Serbian and in English.

4.3 Project activities and achieved results – category culture and arts

 G12 HUB Online Platform

Young artists, Ivana Ranisavljević and Aleksandra Kovačević, with their performances, have promoted and marked the start of work of new web-platform of the Galley 12HUB. Owing to this platform, which was created in the cooperation with the Telenor Foundation, the performances were followed in real time by viewers around the globe. The idea was to make a single place that will enable live stream of performances, the creation of art works that will exist only online, promoting Serbian artists and creating a rich digital archive of the gallery.
