SOME ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT: A new shelter on platform no. 1 of Sambalpur railway station along with covered pathway shed connecting the station building with the platform shelters on P.F-1 has been electrified with provision of nine nos. 150 W M.H fittings, twenty seven nos. recessed mounting white powder coated CRCA sheet steel housing with aluminium mirror reflector CFL fittings (2 x 11W) and six nos. A. C. Ceiling fans in the month of January -06. Electrification of two L.C gates at K.M nos. 145/11-12 and 161/1-2 have been completed in the month of January –06. Illumination level of the approach road to Bolangir railway station has been enhanced by providing five nos. 150W HPSV fittings in place of F/L (O/D) type in the month of February -06. In P.F-2 of Bolangir railway station, 4-spans 4 wires O/H conductor re-tensioned and in P.F-1, 2 span, 4-wire cupper conductor replaced by ACSR conductor in the month of February -06. Four nos. of manned level crossing gates at K.M No. 640/7 (DJX-KHPL), 529/15 (LPG-RGL), 673/7 (LSX-BLGR) and 678/8 (LSX-BLGR) have been electrified in the month of March -06. Electrical wiring of Terminal Management System (TMS) Room in Sambalpur City station, second class waiting hall at Bargarh road railway station, Officer Rest House annexe at Sambalpur and newly constructed S&T room at Sambalpur have been completed in the month of March -06. Electrical Safety Week celebrated in the division from 01.05..06 to 07.05.2006 in the month of April –06 in the month of May -06. Concealed electrical wiring of newly built patient attendant room (adjacent to Divl. Railway Hospital) has been done in the month of April –06 in the month of May -06. One 4 H.P submersible pump set has been installed at Bagbahara DTW in the month of May -06. 1 KVA UPS each have been provided at UTS, Sambalpur, PRS, Sonepur, Weighbridge house, Titilagarh, PRS, Bhawanipatna and Nawapara to have uninterrupted power supply in the month of June -06. Mortuary in Divl. Railway Hospital, Sambalpur have been electrified with power back up through D.G supply in the month of June -06. The existing Divisional power car of 63.2 KVA capacity has been upgraded to 100 KVA by installing a new 100 KVA D.G set with all accessories and new set of base channels in the month of July -06. In order to eliminate the use of MASHAL and to facilitate better token lifting in JSG-TIG section, 24 nos. token lifting light and 12 nos. 150W HPSV in off side of station have been provided in the month of July -06. Goods shed siding at Mahasamund has been electrified by providing four nos. 150W and four nos. 250 W M.H fittings after erecting six nos. second hand rail poles in the month of July -06. To achieve energy conservation, twenty nine nos. of PLS fittings 2 x 18W have been provided in place of 35 nos. FL tube of 40W fittings in various officers chambers and Operation Theater of Divl. Railway Hospital in the month of July -06. Nine nos. 150W M.H fittings provided in newly extended portion P.F shelter in P.F-1 of Sambalpur railway station in the month of August -06. Ten nos. 2 x 11W CFL fittings have been provided in the new pathway shelter in between 2 nd class waiting hall and PF-1 of Sambalpur railway station in the month of August -06. Staff canteen at Sambalpur has been inaugurated. Illumination & fannage of the Canteen has been made by providing six nos. A.C ceiling fans, 11 nos. 2 x 11W PLS fittings, six nos. decorative fittings and one Jhumer in the month of October -06. 36 nos. 11W CFL fittings have been provided in place of 70W HPSV defective fittings at Kherjung, Jharpada, Handapa, Sargipali, Bamur and Jujumura railway stations in the month of October -06. Two nos. 16 meter high High Mast lighting system with six nos. 2 x 400W MH fittings have been commissioned in the circulating area of Sambalpur station in the month of November -06. A board depicting “WISH YOU A HAPPY JOURNEY” with background of Hirakud Dam, Samaleswari temple, Sambalpuri dance of local importance items has been provided at the entrance of the station building in the month of November -06. Illumination of circulating areas of Rupra road, Bisamcuttack and Norla road railway stations have been improved by providing additional 150W HPSV fittings (4 nos.), 70W M.H fittings (1 no.) in the month of November –06. 16 Meter high Hight Mast Lighting system with six nos. 2 x 400W M.H fittings each have been commissioned at Kesinga, Kantabanji, Mahasamund and Bolangir stations circulating areas in the month of December –06. To cope up with low voltage problem, 36W CFL lamps have been provided at Norla road railway station in the month of December -06. Illumination of FOB at Kantabanji railway station has been done by providing 10 nos. FL fittings in the month of December -06. Boudh PRS have been commissioned with two A.C ceiling fans, four FL fittings, one UPS and one 1.5 Ton air- conditioner in the month of January-07. Six nos. wall decorative fittings, four nos. wall fan, eight nos. 2 x 11 W PLS fittings have been provided and concealed wiring has been done at Gents & Ladies waiting hall at Sambalpur in the month of January-07. Electrical Casing capping wiring has been done at non-railhead PRS Deogarh in the month of February-07. Concealed wiring, 2x18W PLS fittings – 13 Nos, 2x11W PLS fittings – 16 Nos and wall fan 06 Nos. have been provided at 1 st class waiting hall, dormitory, SS room and VIP lounge of Sambalpur Bolangir departmentally during the month in the month of February-07. For reliable water supply 01 No. 7.5 HP submersible pump has been installed at bore well of Good shed pump house Kantabanji in the month of February-07. For dedicated water supply, 01 No. 3 HP submersible pump’s automation work has been done at Belsonda Railway station during the month in the month of February-07. 04 Nos. 1.5 ton Split type AC have been installed at VIP room, Sambalpur during the month in the month of March-07. For reliable water supply, 01 No. 6 HP submersible pump has been provided in place of 5 HP defective Submersible pump at Ambadola Railway station during the month in the month of March-07. The two pantry cars (828801 WCB and 988805 WCB) have been provided with four nos. inverters, two nos. freezes and two nos. deep freezes along with ancillary electrical wiring during the month. One 2.4 KVA D.G set has been provided for PRS Nuapada for power back up.
