Athletic program Central College is affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Division III) and the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference for men and women. Our 17 teams include baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field, volleyball and wrestling. Central athletes have posted 11 NCAA Division III championships, 23 NCAA Division III national individual champions, 139 Iowa Conference championships, 23 men’s and women’s IIAC all-sports titles and 44 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-Americans. Athletic facilities: The Ron Schipper Fitness Center features a 7,200-square-foot weight training area and is open to all students. Over $125,000 of new strength and conditioning equipment was purchased for the facility in 2006. A new Fieldturf football field and new 400-meter, 8-lane track were completed for the 2006 football season and 2007 track and field season P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium with new vinyl seating installed in 2005 Human performance lab opened in 1999, and remodeling of exercise science facilities completed in 2004 H.S.
