2010 CCIW Women’s Tennis Championship Quad City Tennis Club Club, October 8-9, Moline, Ill. Hosted by Augustana College Augustana • Carthage • Elmhurst • Millikin • Illinois Wesleyan • North Central • Wheaton www.cciw.org Welcome to the Quad City Tennis Club and the 2010 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Women’s Tennis Championship, hosted by Augustana College. With the help and support of our fans, member institutions, administrators, coaches and student-athletes, the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin enters the 2010-11 academic year as its 65th season of competition, 24th for women’s sports. Wheaton has won the last five CCIW women’s tennis championships and 15 in school history. The top four teams at this year’s championship advance to the CCIW’s automatic qualifier team tournament to be held in the spring of 2011. The winner of the spring tournament earns automatic qualification to the NCAA Division III Championship. The CCIW, recognized as one of the “Best Small-College Conferences in the Nation,” has seen its share of success throughout its time, with 40 NCAA Division III national championships in 12 different sports won by our member schools. Since the 1991-92 academic year, the CCIW has remained consistent in its membership with eight academically superior institutions, including Augustana, Carthage, Elmhurst, Illinois Wesleyan, Millikin, North Central, North Park and Wheaton. In 2007, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, located in Terre Haute, Ind., joined the CCIW as an associate member for men’s and women’s swimming. The CCIW, which sponsors 21 sports, has carried a long tradition of excellence dating back to its inception in 1946, helping student-athletes grow in their athletic as well as educational experience. The CCIW looks to continue that tradition and remains dedicated to helping our student-athletes towards success. Teams are credited with two points for a first-round win, four points for a second-round win and three points for a win in the championship. 2.) Teams are credited with one point for winning a match in the playback bracket. 3.) Teams are credited with two points for winning a third-place match. Match Play 1.) All matches will use regular scoring. 2.) All singles maindraw matches will be play two-of-three sets with a 12-point tie-breaker played to six-all, and all backdraw matches will be an eight-game professional set with a tie-breaker at eight- all. The main draw doubles matches are two out of three full sets. 3.) Winners bring back the tennis balls and report the scores to the tournament director. Please check for the time of your next match. 4.) A maximum of 10 minutes will be given for warm-ups, if needed. 5.) There is a 20-minute rest period between back-to-back matches, if needed. 6.) Defaults will be called 15 minutes after the match has been called to play. 7.) Play will be continuous, and players must be ready for their next match. No participant should leave the court area without checking with the tournament director. 8.)
