Annual Report 2020-21

Maharashtra Day Celebration 1st May 2020 was celebrated as Maharashtra Day to commemorate the creation of the state via virtual live session as per our incredible culture and traditions of Maharashtra. Though our country was under complete lockdown but still our students were ready to celebrate this day by overcoming all the barriers. With the guidance of our Hon‟ble Principal Sir, we planned and celebrated this day in accordance with our Maharashtrian culture and traditions as we need to inculcate these values in the new generation.

All students participated in the program with great enthusiasm and passion. Our little wonders, wearing conventional costumes, sang and performed on the traditional songs and delivered speeches on Maharashtra Day which were really inspirational, thoughtful and introspective. They gave the message to the nation about our culture, traditions, great leaders, infrastructural developments.

Science Model Making Activity

“Science Model Making Activity” had been conducted on 9th May 2020 ,for our Grade I kids. With the overwhelming dedication our young explorers made different and very interesting models on the following topics-

1. Healthy habits

2. My own garden

3. Modes of transport

4. Domestic animals & their shelters

5. Farm animals & their shelters

6. Festivals celebration

Rakshabandhan Celebration

Podar International School, Wardha celebrated „Rakshabandhan‟ on 3rd August, 2020 with the theme „The bond of love‟ where students expressed their love towards their brother and sister by participating in the below mentioned activities - 1. Rakhi making & Thali Decoration – For Girls 2. Gift packing & A letter to sister – For Boys Students participated in the activities with zeal and enthusiasm. Girls made beautiful and unique rakhis at home. All these rakhis had Sanskrit shloka imprinted on the thread. They also showed their creativity by beautifully decorating the thalis. A beautifully packed gift with a heart touching message on the gift of sisters was prepared by the boys. They also wrote an emotional letter showing their gratitude and love for their sisters.

Janmashtmi Celebration

Podar International School, Wardha celebrated “Janmashtmi” on 11th August 2020 , with the theme “ Janmashtmi ke rang, PIS Wardha ke sang”.

Our students made this celebration time special with their involvement in the activities. They participated with zeal and enthusiasm and made this moment special for the school and themselves by putting forward their best performances.

All the students were part of the following activities-

Matki decoration, Bansuri decoration, Dahihandi, Dance performance on the theme songs, Corner decoration at home (Scene of Gokul), For Sibling (brother-brother, sister-sister or brother-sister) – dance performance in pair in Radha & Krishna getup, Enacting stories of Krishna or Krishna & Sudama to show their pure friendship, Bansuri play, Making of toran and wall hanging.

Independence Day celebration

Podar International School, Wardha celebrated the spirit of independence with patriotic zeal and enthusiasm. Due to constraints imposed by COVID, it was impossible for the students to be physically present for the celebration but this difficulty was overcome by celebrating the day virtually.

The day started with hoisting of flag by respected Principal Sri. Ajay Ghorpade in the presence of the teaching and non-teaching staff. This spectacle was witnessed by the students sitting in their homes. This was followed by speeches delivered by teachers and Principal Sir and various programs presented by students like singing patriotic songs, dancing and delivering speeches. The spectre of Corona could not dampen the patriotic zeal of the staff and the students alike and everyone enthusiastically participated in the celebration.

National Sport Day Celebration

National Sports Day, which marks the birth anniversary of legendary Indian hockey player Dhyan Chand, was celebrated in Podar International School, Wardha on 29th August2020. “Work without play makes jack a dull boy” is a saying that has been used to encourage students to take part in sports. As a student, participating in sports is one way of taking your body to do exercises.

All the students from Class I to VIII participated virtually in the celebration with great interest and enthusiasm. Various activities were planned for the students on this occasion.

Hindi week celebration

Podar International School, Wardha had oragnised „Hindi Diwas Celebration Week‟ as students should know the importance of Hindi and for that different competitions were held for them.

1. Hindi Speech writing 2. Hindi Poem Recitation 3. Hindi Story Telling 4. Hindi Quiz Competition

Students from Grade I to VIII participated enthusiastically in all competitions. Winners were awarded with E-Certificates. It was a great experience for students to understand the importance of Hindi language.

Gandhi Jayanti Celebration

Podar International School, Wardha celebrated to make the students aware about the contribution of Gandhiji in the independence movement as well as in eradicating many of the social evils prevalent in at that time. The 2nd prime Minister of India Sri Lal Bahadur Shastriji was also remembered as his birth anniversary falls on the same day. The online celebrations were conducted class wise and guests had been invited to grace the occasion and enlighten the students on the life and times of the great personality. The children exuberantly showcased their talent by singing, delivering speech and telling stories about Gandhiji. This proved that the teachings and values of Gandhiji still find relevance today. The chief guests for the day were:- Grade 1 Dr Rupali Khedkar, Grade 3 to 5 Shambhu Joshi and for Grade 6 to 8 Mr. Tushar Patil.

Children’s Day Celebration

PIS Wardha celebrated Children‟s Day on 11thNovember 2020, with the theme “Tare Jamin Par” with zeal and enthusiasm. The chief guest of the program was Mrs.Namrata AshishAnjankar, parent of class 1 student Isha Anjankar.

This year the celebration was on virtual platform. Many activities were conducted for this day like –Movie Bash, Enlightening Questionnaires, Talent Show, Treasure Hunt, Fancy Dress Event, Class party and Dance.

Christmas Celebration PIS, Wardha virtually celebrated on the theme „Santa on the Floor‟ on 23rd December 2020. The celebration program was honuoured by the gracious presence of chief guest Mrs. Rupali Sarkar. Following activities were conducted for the students- Dress up party, Santa‟s Cap and Bell, Decorate the corner, Christmas Treat and share your recipe, Become a story creator, Movie Time, Secret Santa Message, and Christmas Carols & Games for parents. Virtual Sports Day

Podar International School, Wardha organized first ever virtual Sports Meet under the theme of ‘Fit and Healthy Podarites’ for the students to engage them not only in academics but in physical activities also. PIS, Wardha conducted several sports events for students and their parents; which could be played and comfortably performed at indoors by keeping in mind the current pandemic situation. The activities began by performing Yoga and continued with Health and Hygiene along with healthy diet and Safety videos made by students in relation with Washing hands, Wearing Masks and maintaining physical distance in outdoors. Students actively participated in other activities such as, zumba, juggling, tossing and dribbling the ball, separate the beans, and Sport Dance, etc.

Republic Day Celebration Podar International School, Wardha, celebrated the 72nd Day with much enthusiasm and nationalistic fervour. The beginning of the celebration saw the unfurling of the flag „Tricolour‟ by the Principal of the school, Sri. Ajay Ghorpade, accompanied by Head Mistress of the Podar Jumbo kids Mrs. Roshani and the administrative officer of the school Sri. Ajay Patil followed by the National Anthem and the Zanda Geet. After this Mrs. Sangeeta Sahu elaborated on the importance of the day in Hindi. Subsequently a speech in English was delivered by Sri. Arun Barde.

Cultural Fest PIS, Wardha virtually organized „Cultural Fest‟ on the beautiful theme „Rishte – A strong bond of relations‟ on 20th Feb 2021, to know more about relations and strengthen them. Students participated in various activities like Dance, Singing, Drama, Mime & Fancy A Value. Students performed spontaneously on the mentioned activities. The students, teachers and staff members were awarded by school for their valuable contribution
