    Republic Day, 26th January 2021 Celebration at NSTI(W) Indore India celebrates Republic Day on January 26 annually with a lot of pride and fervor. It is a day that is important to every Indian citizen. It marks the day when India became truly independent and embraced democracy. In other words, it celebrates the day on which our constitution came into effect. On 26 January 1950. Prior to this, India was governed by the Government of India act 1935. Republic day came into force on January 26,1950. Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedker was the chairman of the Constitution drafting committee that wrote the constitution of India. Dr Rajendra Prasad was the first president of India and also the first president to unfurl the Indian tricolour at the republic day parade at Rajpath on January 26 1950. This was the same year when the president House was renamed as Rashtrapati Bhavan. India is celebrating its 72 nd Republic day. The Indian flag comprises the three horizontal colour brands in equal proportion and commonly referred to as the Tricolour. The indian flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya and was first presented at the Constituent Assembly on July 22,1947. Saffron represents courage and sacrifice White represents honesty, peace and purity Green represents Faith and chivalry and also prosperity, vibrance and life. Ashok chakra, also known as Dharma Chakra or wheel of law, is in navy blue and made of 24 spokes. NSTI(W), Indore celebrated Republic Day 2021 with precautions of Covid-19 pandemic guidelines.     Embassy of India Kuwait PRESS RELEASE Celebration of Constitution Day 2019 Embassy of India organized a function in its auditorium to celebrate the Constitution Day of India and mark the 70th Anniversary of adoption of India’s Constitution. The Constitution of India formally came into effect on 26 January 1950, which is celebrated as Republic Day of India. The event was very well attended with the presence of a large number of distinguished guests comprising a Member of National Assembly of the friendly State of Kuwait, officials from the Government of Kuwait, representatives from Academia, leading Think Tanks, Diplomats, representatives of the Indian Community in Kuwait, and a significant number of Kuwaiti and Indian students. An eminent Constitutional expert and Professor of Public Law at Kuwait University, Dr. Mohammad Al-Feeli, was the Keynote speaker at the event. Addressing the gathering, H.E. Mr. K. Jeeva Sagar, Ambassador of India to Kuwait, credited the Constitution for the progress of the country governed by strong, independent democratic institutions; and for creation of an ecosystem which provides meaningful freedom for realization of true potential of an individual. Underlining that Kuwait itself is a Rule-based and Constitution-based nation, the Ambassador thanked the leadership, the Government and the people of Kuwait for their humanitarian and friendly approach towards expatriates in general and Indian community in particular. In his keynote address, Dr. Feeli highlighted the salient features of the Indian constitution, particularly the aspects of Pluralism and Secularism, Fundamental rights, Directive Principles of State Policy, and the principle of separation of powers. He spoke about the farsightedness shown by the drafting members of the Constitution in providing an enduring framework of the Rule of Law to fulfill the aspirations of over a billion people.

The celebration is attended by Students, Teaching and Non-teaching Staff, Invitees, guests and any attendees. Road Safety Rally The students are encouraged to participate in the activities of spreading the awareness among citizens on social issues like road safety. To create the awareness about ole of pharmacist in the healthcare the students also participates in the themed Pharmacist day (September 25) rally every year Cleanliness/Plantation drive Students consistently and regularly participate in the cleaning activities on the several occasions including Mahatma Gandhi Jayanthi on October 02, every year.     THE MEANING OF REPUBLIC DAY ! The Constitution was enacted by the Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949, and came into effect on 26 January 1950.The date 26 January was chosen to commemorate the Purna Swaraj declaration of independence of 1930. With its adoption, the Union of India officially became the modern and contemporary Republic of India and it replaced the Government of India Act 1935 as the country's fundamental governing document. The Constitution declares India to be a sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic republic, assuring its citizens of justice, equality, and liberty, and endeavours to promote fraternity among them. The words "socialist" and "secular" were added to the definition in 1976 by constitutional amendment. India celebrates the adoption of the constitution on 26 January each year as Republic Day Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, chiefly responsible for drafting of The Constitution of India and a champion of human rights was born on the 14th April, 1891. After graduating from Elfinstone College, Bombay in 1912, he joined Columbia University, USA where he was awarded Ph.D. Later he joined the London School of Economics & obtained a degree of D.Sc. ( Economics) & was called to the Bar from Gray's Inn. On his return to India in 1923, he founded 'Bahishkrit Hitkarini Sabha' with the main objective of spreading education & improving the economic conditions of the depressed classes. With the slogan of 'Educate-Agitate- Organize', the social movement led by Dr. Ambedkar aimed at Annihilation of Caste & the Reconstruction of Indian Society on the basis of equality of human beings. In 1927, he led the march at Mahad, Maharashtra to establish the rights of the untouchables to taste water from the Public Chawdar Lake', traditionally prohibited to them.

    REPUBLIC DAY 2019 Greetings to all of you on 70th Republic Day of India! Today, we are celebrating our 70th Republic Day and also our transition from a colonial governed state to an independent Republic. As we all know that India gained independence on 15th August 1947, but we remained as dominion status under the British, until 26th January 1950, when the Constitution of India was adopted by the Constituent Assembly; marking India’s emergence as a fully Independent, Democratic and Republic Nation. The freedom and rights that we enjoy today as the citizens of India, not to mention this Democratic setup, we owe it all to our Constitution and to the people who created it. Constitution of India is the supreme governing document; it is a rule book of India that includes everything from rights of an ordinary citizen to the rights of its President. It assures the citizens of fundamental rights and justice, liberty and fraternity. At this day, the Constitution of India came into force in 1950 however, was adopted on 26 November 1949 by the Constituent Assembly. On 26 January, India was declared Purna Swaraj by the Indian National Congress in 1930 that’s why 26 January was chosen to bring Indian Constitution into force. After its enforcement the Union of India officially became contemporary Republic of India which had replaced the Government of India Act 1935 to fundamental governing document. Our country was declared a sovereign, secular, socialist, and democratic republic by the Constitution. Our constitution assures the citizens of India about justice, liberty, and equality among them.

The Constitution was passed on 26 November 1949 in the Constituent Assembly. It was adopted on 26 January 1950 with a democratic government system, when the country became a republic in true sense. 26 January was selected, because it was this day in 1930 when the Declaration of Indian Independence was passed. To mark this occasion, a grand parade is held along Rajpath in New Delhi, the capital of India, beginning from Raisina Hill near the Rashtrapati Bhavan (Presidential Palace), along the Day, which is called ‘Beating Retreat‘.
