He then moved to another company for around five years before returning to ­Pilatus to work in the Composite department. In his early days in this department Osman concentrated exclusively on making th composite component assemblies for ­Pilatus aircraft. From autumn 2016 onward he became more involved in composite repairs, and is now devoted mainly to ­ 25 aircraft component repair work. Benedikt Kaiser arrived at ­Pilatus on 26 August 1974 to start his apprenticeship as a mechanic, before trans- ferring to PC-7 and PC-9 assembly work. In 1984 he was loaned to what was then Swissair for a few months. After Benedikt returned, he took over responsi- bility for repairs on trainer aircraft and ejection seats. Peter Hubacher joined ­Pilatus on 26 August 1974 as an apprentice mechanic, following in the footsteps of his father, who had already worked for ­Pilatus for around 40 years. 1 APRIL ORGANISATORISCHE ÄNDERUNGEN Roman Emmenegger übernahm per 1. April 2019 die Stelle als Leiter Fabrikation von Fredy Glarner, welcher per Ende März seine Pensionierung angetreten hat. Roman Emmenegger ist seit 2012 bei ­Pilatus tätig und hat als Abteilungsleiter die Auftragsabwicklung in der Fabrikation erfolgreich geleitet. Heute ist er für rund 600 Mitarbeitende verantwortlich, welche die Produktion sämtli- cher Flugzeugteile sicherstellen.

ORGANISATIONAL CHANGES With the retirement of Fredy Glarner at the end of March, Roman Emmenegger took over as Head of Production on 1 April 2019. Roman Emmenegger joined ­Pilatus in 2012, and has successfully managed order processing work within the Production unit in his capacity as Head of Department. FIRST AUSTRALIAN STUDENTS COMPLETE TRAINING ON THE PC-21 The first ten trainee pilots from the Royal Australian Air Force com- pleted their basic training on the PC-21 at the end of July. They underwent 250 hours of ground training, 30 hours in the simulator and 40 hours in the air in a PC-21 over the five-month course held at the RAAF Base East Sale, Victoria. The Royal Australian Air Force has used the PC-21 Training System for pilot training since 2017.

SWEDISH AIR AMBULANCE ORGANISATION OPTS FOR THE PC-24 Following a thorough evaluation process, Pilatus­ has won a ­contract to deliver six PC-24s in full medevac configuration to the “Kommunalförbundet Svenskt Ambulansflyg” (KSA). From 2021 onward, the new aircraft will allow the provision of aeromedical services right across Sweden. Following in the footsteps of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia, KSA is the second organ- isation to deploy the PC-24 as a medevac aircraft.
