Notably, 2017 was also the most geographically diverse year in terms of the number of cities and countries that completed 200-meter-plus buildings, with 69 cities across 23 countries represented in the data, up from 54 cities across 18 countries in 2016. The report covers other statistical highlights of 2017 and predicts completions for 2018. One of the most important reasons driven the achievement is the continuously evolvement of structural systems. In this paper, previous classifications of structural systems are summarized and different types of structural systems are introduced. Besides the structural systems, innovations in other aspects of today's design of high-rise buildings including damping systems, construction techniques, elevator systems as well as sustainability are presented and discussed. -

I venti grattacieli mondiali più alti completati nel 2015 – Gallery Il Council of Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, il riferimento mondiale per il monitoraggio dei grattacieli nel mondo, ha stilato la consueta classifica annuale delle torri più alte nel mondo che sono giunte a completamento ufficiale nel 2015. Come era prevedibile, la leadership è stata raggiunta dalla Shanghai Tower, l’edificio che con i suoi 632 metri non solo è diventato il più alto della Cina, ma il secondo nel mondo, dopo il Burj Khalifa. La Shanghai Tower (alla quale abbiamo dedicato uno speciale approfondimento tecnico) è solo la punta dell’iceberg della proliferazione degli edifici alti e super alti in Cina: basti pensare che nella top 20 sono addirittura 11 gli edifici realizzati nella Repubblica.
