The inspection of all courses by the UCI Commissaire will be from 10:00 - 17:00. The courses will be open for training during 13:00 - 16:00. Riders registration will begin at 17:00 in the Race office at Bulevar despota Stefana 5 (see the Event map). After the registration at 18:00 the Technical Meeting will be held at the same place. Vojvodina has a population of approximately 2 million. It has a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural identity, there are more than 26 ethnic groups in the province, which has six official languages. Novi Sad is the largest city and administrative center of Vojvodina and the second-largest city in Serbia. It is located in the southern part of the Pannonian Plain, on the border of the Backa and Srem regions, on the banks of the Danube river, facing the northern slopes of Fruska Gora mountain. The city has a population of about 250,000 people. The city was founded in 1694, when Serb merchants formed a colony across the Danube from the Petrovaradin fortress, a Habsburg strategic military post. In the 18th and 19th centuries, it became an important trading and manufacturing centre, as well as a centre of Serbian culture of that period, earning the nickname of the Serbian Athens. The city was heavily devastated in the 1848 Revolution, but it was subsequently restored. Today, Novi Sad is an industrial and financial centre of the Serbian economy, as well as a major cultural center. Today, Novi Sad is the second cultural centre in Serbia (besides Belgrade) and city's officials try to make the city more attractive to numerous cultural events Novi Sad is one of the most important centers of higher education and research in Serbia, with four universities and numerous professional, technical, and private colleges and research institutes, including a law school with its own publication. The most recognized structure in Novi Sad is Petrovaradin Fortress, which dominates the city and with scenic views of the city. Besides the fortress, there is also historic neighborhood of Stari Grad, with many monuments, museums, caffes, restaurants and shops.There is also a National Park of Fruška Gora nearby, approimatelly 15 km from city center. The number of tourists visiting Novi Sad each year has steadily risen since 2000. Every year, in the beginning of July, during the annual EXIT music festival, the city is full of young people from all over Europe. EXIT is the biggest music summer festival in Serbia and the region. Also, Novi Sad Fair attracts many business people into the city. In May, the city is home to the biggest agricultural show in the region, which is regulary visited by more than half million people. Sports serious development started after the establishment of the Municipal Association of Physical Culture in 1959 and after 1981, when Spens Sports Center was built. Today, about 220 sports organizations are active in Novi Sad. Novi Sad is the second best developed sports city in Serbia after Belgrade. Apart from the culture of attending sports events, people from Novi Sad participate in a wide range of recreational and leisure activities. Football and basketball are the most popular participation team sports in Novi Sad. Cycling is also a very popular in Novi Sad. Novi Sad's flat terrain and extensive off-road paths in the mountainous part of town, in Fruška Gora is conducive to riding. Hundreds of commuters cycle the roads, bike lanes and bike paths daily. Novi Sad has a temperate continental climate, with four seasons. Autumn is longer than spring, with long sunny and warm periods. Winter is not so severe. Spring is usually short and rainy, while summer arrives abruptly. The daily mean temperature in march and april is about 14.5°C. Stage 1 27. Mar. 2015. Manastir Beocin XCT (Cross-country time trial) The start of the XCT will be in Manastir Beocin (Beocin Monastery) (see the Event map). It is a 4km wide uphill track with the finish in Brankovac. The riders will start one by one in 1 minute intervals, women first, than men. Before the race there will be an open training on the course. During that time the organizer will allocate the number plates and register late entry riders. After that a Technical briefing will be held. At the finish a small camp is planned for the riders who finished the race. After all riders finish the race, they can go back to the Start area at the race opposite direction. At the Start area is a parking, there will be toilets and a bikewash. The medical crew will be located also there. Schedule Thursday, 26. Mar. Mar. 2015. Popovica-Popovica XCP (Cross-country point-to-point) The start of the XCP will be at Popovica (see the Event map). The finish is also in Popovica but in different location. The course is 20km in length with mostly forrest roads with some paved road trough the Stari Ledinci village. In this village there wiIl be three Feeding and Tecnical zones. Each zone is located after a long downhill sections. For this reason the medical crew will be also located at the center of the village. Before the race there will be an open training on the course. After that a Technical briefing will be held. At 11:30 the Award ceremony for Stage 1 is planned in the Finish area.
