IS IT TIME TO REVIEW YOUR ESTATE PLAN? When was the last time you reviewed your estate plan? If you haven’t reviewed your plan since the day you originally signed documents at your attorney’s , you’re not alone. The vast majority of people simply don’t think about creating an estate plan and, of those who do, few seldom make a point to regularly re-visit their plan to ensure it still meets their needs. Generally, an estate plan should be reviewed after any major life event, such as birth, marriage, divorce, or death. However, I generally advise that, at a minimum, clients re-visit their plans every three to five years to ensure the plan still meets their objectives and priorities.
