G-AUEU was purchased from ADC Aircraft Ltd, and shipped to for Horrie Miller. He converted it to a 2 passenger aircraft and used it for joy flights and charter work. Aircraft shown soon after it came into service with Horrie Miller's Commercial Aviation Co. Miller implied it was a rebuild of his earlier DH 9 G- AUEU, however it appears it may have been essentially a new DH 9C airframe imported from the UK. 1929 Parafield, Adelaide, Australia. After the 1928 Western Australian Centenary Air Race, Horrie Miller converted the aircraft back to a 3 passenger configuration and reinstalled the access ladder.

Horrie Miller entered G-AUHT in the 1928 Western Australian Centenary Air Race (Sept 29 to Oct 7). He streamlined the aircraft by covering the two unused passenger openings. G-AUHT was re-registered as VH-UHT around 1930 inline with changes to the registration system. It is shown as it appeared during the 1936 South Australian Centennial Air Race (Dec 16 to Dec 18). The aircraft didn't gain a winning place in the race. It was converted back to its original 3 passenger configuration after the race but was destroyed in a nonfatal accident at Kadina, SA, on May 15, 1937.

A34-006 was given special tail markings to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of 35 Squadron. The unit was formed during WW2, in march 1942, and has retained its transport and supply role to the present day.

501 Squadron became part of RAF Coastal Command in November 1938. They equipped with the Whitley in late 1940 and moved to St Eval in January 1942. YG-H is shown as it appeared in July 1942 when it was involved in the sinking of submarine U-751.

Lancaster R5724 was the first Bomber Command aircraft to sink a German submarine (July 1942). In a separate event, the heroic actions of the crew in bringing the severely damaged aircraft back from a mission (Sept 1942) saw them all awarded the DFM.

FK190 was used by the A&AEE to test the prototype submarine detection radar system developed by the British. This type of installation was known as 'stickleback' ASV and was used on Coastal Command B-24s and Wellingtons. 44-8222 was one of the B-17Gs configured with the H2X radar replacing the ball turret. These aircraft were used as pathfinders. This aircraft suffered damage during a raid to Politz, 7 October 1944, and made an emergency landing in . Around 130 B-17Gs were converted to the air-sea rescue variant. After conversion 44-83575 was operated by the 1st Air Rescue Squadron and allocated to C Flight based at Ramey Air Force Base, Puerto Rico. Build as a B-17G-90-VE, 44-8906 was converted to a VIP transport at the end of WW2. It was based assigned to several units operating from USAF base at Tulln near Vienna. 43-39119 was modified at Wright Field to serve as an air launch vehicle for the JB-2 Thunderbug guided missile. It is shown as it appeared during missile tests at Eglin Field in 1945 with a JB-2 missile under each wing.

Like a number of other ex-WW2 B-29s, 44-70102, was converted to a TB-29 in the early 1950s. It displays the distinctive red stripes applied to those aircraft flying in the 'target' role for fighter squadrons and US Army anti-aircraft units.

A46-301 was the first Growler delivered to the RAAF. The handover occurred on 29 July 2015 at St Louis, USA. In early 2017 the first Growlers arrived in Australia. However A46-301 was retained in the USA, firstly for testing and later for RAAF training. To mark the 100th Anniversay of the establishment of 6 Squadron, A36-306 was given a special scheme. The arrival of the EA-18G Growler saw the unit shift from its tradional training (primarily) role and become a frontline electronic warfare unit.

A47-011 was the first P-8 Poseiden delivered to the RAAF. The type went into operation with 11 Squadron, replacing their P-3 Orions.

264 Squadron was reformed in late 1939 and became operational with the Defiant in March 1940. This aircraft was the mount of the squadron's CO, Sqn Ldr Philip Hunter, and carried the leader's pennant below the cockpit. N1801 PS-Y (Coimbatore II) Defiant Mk I, Royal Air Force, 264 Squadron 1941 West Malling, UK. WW2 (Europe) Drawing code: DEFNT041

264 Squadron converted to the night-fighter role during the second half of 1940. PS-Y is shown late in its service, around the time the squadron began converting to the Defiant Mk II. It carries a shield on the nose and 4 victory markings.

VPB-119 became operation in March 1945. From their base in Luzon, Philippines, they conducted combat patrols over the South China Sea. 59403 was assigned to VPB-119 in November 1944 when the unit was in training and stayed with the unit to the end of WW2. VP-19 became a reserve unit in 1946 and, due to a USN restructure, was redesignated VP-871 in February 1950. In March it was put on active duty for the Korean War and converted to the PB4Y-2. 59970 was one of the unit's 12 aircraft. A small number of Liberator C.IX (PB4Y-2 transport variant) were operated by the RAF from 1945 to 1946. During 1945, JT993 was used on the Pacific Service carrying personnel and freight on the route between San Diego and Sydney.

The unit insignia was applied to the engine cowls on 1F./123. On the nose was a temporary in chalk featuring Winston Churchill and Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain.

This aircraft served with the USN before being sold by MASDC (Davis-Monthan AFB) to civilian operators. Originally built as a C-54D, this aircraft was delivered in March 1945 and transferred to the USN. It was converted to a R5D-3 (later redesignated C-54Q) and is shown as it appeared in the mid 1960s when it assigned to NAS Agana, Guam.

Ths was the personal transport aircraft of SS General Hauser and carried his insignia on the fin. The aircraft was a Fi 156 C-3/trop, and was subsiquently finished with RLM 79 Sandgelb upper surfaces.

An overspray of a light-blue was applied over the sides of the wings and engines, and the leading edges of the wings to reduce the aircraft's visibility when performing its coastal patrol duties.

'842' was one of only three S-2 Tracker from the RAN fleet to not be destroyed in a hanger fire at Nowra in 1976. It was the only Tracker of VS816 to be operational during the 1977 RIMPAC exercise and a 'scoreboard' tally was applied to the rudder.

After the end of the War Junkers modified a CL.I (CL.1806/18) in an attempt to cater for the civil market. This aircraft was used on service between Dessau and Weimar, giving it the distinction of being the first all metal aircraft in airline service.

'Bud' Anderson, Jr, graduated from pilot training in September 1942 and was initially assigned to the 328th Fighter Group in the USA. I-LIFE was delivered to Linee Aerre Italiane (LAI) in March 1957. When LAI and Alitalia underwent a corporate merger in October 1957, the LAI Viscount fleet was transferred to Alitalia. I-LIFE carried this Alitalia livery from around 1960 until 1964. I-LIFE was a Viscount 785D model and first flew on 12 March 1957. It was delivered to LAI on 27 March 1957. Airline, Türk Hava Yollari (Turkish Airlines) TC-SEV V.700D Series Viscount, Airline, Türk Hava Yollari (Turkish Airlines) 1959 Turkey. Drawing code: VV794-21

In February 1959 TC-SEV was on a special flight to carry the the Turkish Prime Minister to London to sign a treaty over Cyprus when it crashed on approach to Gatwick. Although the Prime minister survived, 9 of the 16 passengers and the crew were killed. TC-SEV was a Viscount 794D model and first flew on 16 July 1958. It was delivered to Türk Hava Yollari on 1 August 1958. Vickers Viscount V.800 Series Viscount Airline, Continental Airlines N240V (Los Angeles) V.800 Series Viscount, Airline, Continental Airlines 1958 USA. Drawing code: VV812-11

Continental Airlines introduced the Viscount into service in February 1958. The Viscount 810 series was called 'Viscount II' by Continental. The scheme depicted was carried by their fleet until 1962. N240V was a Viscount 812 and was ordered by Continental Airlines. It first flew on 14 February 1958 and departed the UK on its ferry flight to the USA on 10 May 1958.

14 Squadron was part of New Zealand's contribution to the British Commonwealth Occupation Force (BCOF) in Japan. NZ5617 was one of the unit's 24 FG-1D Corsairs. NZ5617 carried the name 'Verna' in yellow letters on the stbd side. Goodyear Aircraft Corporation built F4U-1D were designated FG-1D Royal New Zealand Air Force, 23 Squadron NZ5469 469 F4U-1D Corsair, Royal New Zealand Air Force, 23 Squadron 1945 Espiritu Santo, New Britain. WW2, South Pacific Drawing code: VF4U1071

NZ5469 was operated by 23 Squadron and carries the squadrons 'ghost' stencil under the cockpit. It is shown as it appeared during its ferry flight back to New Zealand at the end of the war.
