Section Includes: Identification and summary description of the Work, location, OWNER furnished products, activities by others, and coordination. 1.02 THE WORK A. The Work consists of construction of the following: 1. New 5th Street Influent Structure with 36-inch diameter gravity piping. 2. New North Lift Screenings Structure with Odor Scrubber 3. Bid Alternate A - New North Lift Meter Vault and New 24-inch diameter force main as indicated. 4. Bid Alternate B – New 8-inch diameter gravity sewer piping and manhole as indicated. 5. Associated paving and grading as indicated. 6. Associated electrical work, controls, and instrumentation as indicated 7. Incidentals for complete and usable North Lift Pump Station and Screenings Structure. B. Milestone portions of the Work have Substantial Completion contract times and liquidated damages as specified in the Special Conditions. Milestones are described as follows: 1. Milestone 1: New 5th Street Influent Structure, new North Lift Screenings Structure, new North Lift Odor Scrubber, new North Lift Meter Vault, yard piping, electrical, and instrumentation, and all modifications, appurtenances, and incidental work necessary for a complete and operable North Lift Pump Screenings Structure. C. Except as specifically noted otherwise, provide and pay for: 1. Insurance and bonds. 2. Labor, materials, and equipment. 3. Tools, equipment, and machinery required for construction. 4. Utilities required for construction. 5. Temporary facilities including sheeting and shoring. 6. Traffic control and dust control measures. 7. Other facilities and services necessary for proper execution and completion of the Work. D. Secure and pay for all permits including OSHA excavation permits, Department of Transportation permits, government fees and licenses. E. Comply with codes, ordinances, regulations, orders, and other legal requirements of public authorities having bearing on the performance of the Work. C-9 ATTACHMENT C 1.03 LOCATION OF PROJECT A. The Work is located at 3320 East Fifth Street, Carson City, Nevada. 1.04 OWNER ASSIGNED SUBCONTRACTORS A. Assignment of Subcontractors by OWNER is not anticipated. 1.05 ACTIVITIES BY OTHERS A. OWNER will provide SCADA and PLC programming as indicated in Division 17. B. OWNER, utilities, and others may perform activities within Project area while the Work is in progress. 1. Schedule the Work with OWNER, utilities, and others to minimize mutual interference. C. Cooperate with others to minimize interference and delays. 1. When cooperation fails, submit recommendations and perform Work in coordination with work of others as directed. D. When the Work depends for proper execution or results upon work performed by others, inspect and promptly report apparent discrepancies or defects in work performed by others. 1. Assume responsibility for work performed by others, except for defects reported as specified in this paragraph and defects which may become apparent in work performed by others after execution of the Work. 1.06 COORDINATION OF WORK A. Maintain overall coordination of the Work. B. Obtain construction schedules from each subcontractor, and require each subcontractor to maintain schedules and coordinate modifications. 1.07 EARLY OCCUPANCY OF PORTIONS OF WORK A. Substantially Complete following portions of Work for OWNER's occupancy including specified testing, training of OWNER's personnel, and other preparations necessary for OWNER's occupancy or use, by the date specified: 1. Milestone 1. B. Certificates of Substantial Completion will be executed for each designated portion of Work prior to OWNER occupancy. 1. Such certificate of Substantial Completion will describe the portion of the Work to be occupied by OWNER, items that may be incomplete or defective, date of occupancy by OWNER, and other information required by OWNER and CONTRACTOR.
