BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (Indian Oil) is 's largest public corporation in terms of revenue and is one of the five Maharatna status companies of India, apart from Limited, NTPC Limited, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation and Limited. It is the highest ranked Indian company and the world's 119th largest public corporation in the prestigious Fortune 'Global 500' listing in the year 2015. Beginning in 1959 as Indian Oil Company Ltd., Ltd. was formed in 1964 with the merger of Indian Refineries Ltd. (Estd. 1958). Indian Oil accounts for nearly half of India's petroleum products market share, 35% national refining capacity (together with its subsidiary Petroleum Corporation Ltd., or CPCL), and 71% downstream sector pipelines through capacity. The Indian Oil Group owns and operates 11 of India's 23 refineries with a combined refining capacity of 80.7 MMTPA (million metric tons per annum).

There are nine refineries located at Guwahati, Digboi, Barauni, , Haldia, Mathura, Panipat, and Paradeep these also include refineries of subsidiary Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (CPCL).

The Corporation's cross-country pipelines network, for transportation of crude oil to refineries and finished products to high-demand centers, spans over 11,220 km. With a throughout capacity of 80.49 MMTPA for crude oil and petroleum products and 9.5 MMSCMD for gas, this network meets the vital energy needs of the consumers in an efficient, economical and environment-friendly manner.

This is First phase Petroleum product storage capacity enhancement project at existing Jaipur petroleum terminal at Mohanpura, Jaipur of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. To meet the demand of the POL product to the end users, IOCL has proposed to enhance the POL storage capacity of the plant by constructing 2 X 2000 KL for ethanol, 2 X 1,000 KL for Biodiesel and reallocation of existing 2 X 200 KL U/G ethanol tanks to biodiesel. The present First phase storage capacity of POL is 81,494 KL. After enhancement, the First phase total capacity of the POL will be 87,494KL. At present IOCL Jaipur terminal is handling petroleum products such as MS, SKO, HSD, and Ethanol. MS and Ethanol fall under Class ‘A’ flammable Petroleum products while SKO and HSD fall under Class ‘B’ flammable Petroleum product. Jaipur POL supplied petroleum products to ten district places in . Jaipur Terminal is an automated inland Terminal spread over an area of 110 acres which is about 50 km from Jaipur city off 4.5 km from SH-12(Jaipur to Bhilwara Highway).The details of surrounding and neighborhood are as follows: The Terminal is located on vacant/ barren land with little habitation. East Side- IOCL pipeline division. West Side – agricultural /Grazing land of Harsooliya village, North Side- agricultural /Grazing land of Mohanpura village and South side- SH-12(Jaipur to Bhilwara Highway around 4.5 KM from POL) and agricultural /Grazing land. The Jaipur is located in the semi-Arid Zone of India. The site is situated at Latitude 26039.634‟N and 26039.935‟N and Longitude 75040.985‟E and 75041.510‟E. It has characterized by high temperature, low rainfall and mild winter.
