2019-Paws-Up-Program-Guide.Pdf ndless stretches of unspoiled wilderness, dotted across 37,000 acres. Ten miles E of the historic Blackfoot River. Three hundred head of resident elk. All nestled beneath the most brilliant starlit sky you’ve ever seen. While the beauty of Montana is unparalleled, if you ask us, it’s the people of The Resort at Paws Up® who make this a place you want to return to again and again. We love hearing from our guests and seeing The Resort through their eyes. And more often than not, it’s not just the things they did or the sights they saw—it was the staff member they were with who really made their experience special. We’re so fortunate to work with people who are passionate about what they do and love nothing more than to share their wisdom with others—whether our guests are seasoned pros or trying something for the very first time. Paws Up is home to chefs who don’t just place an order for supplies—they forage for ingredients in the forest. Our adventure guides go above and beyond to make sure that our guests have the time of their lives doing things they’ve never done before. And our wranglers consider this not just a job, but an honored family heritage that spans back generations. This is also a place brimming with artists and craftspeople who could find inspiration anywhere, and they choose to be here. It’s been said that we don’t remember the words that someone says to us, but we remember how they made us feel. For this year’s program of events, we’ve chosen to honor the people who bring their best every day and make every experience unforgettable. We hope you’ll join us this year at Paws Up. You know you’ll be welcomed with open arms. • Take a Culinary Journey Unlike No Other. Watch a Star Rise
~Take a culinary journey unlike no other. Watch a star rise~ Let your taste buds be tantalized Meet Chef Brother Luck and his brand Four by Brother Luck & Lucky Dumpling With a name like Brother Luck it would be easy to attribute your success to good fortune, but Brother's is a result of hard work, determination, and passion. As a teenager, Brother fell on hard times when his father passed away at the age of 10. After relocating from the San Francisco Bay Area to Arizona, Brother enrolled in a vocational school for high school students to learn the culinary arts. The free food was intriguing enough to keep attending the cooking classes and eventually led him to find a passion in the kitchen that would set him up on an incredible journey inspired by a love for food and service. "I spent my whole senior year training," Brother admits. "I'd come to school in the morning and train. Then in the afternoon, I went to the Art Institute of Phoenix to train with a master chef. Then I'd work the line at the Hyatt all evening." Brother eventually was awarded with enough scholarships to attend the Art Institute of Phoenix, including one from the college, which named him “Best Teen Chef." His time in college would lead to a diverse career cooking in places around the world including in Japan; Hong Kong; Chicago; New York City and finally in Colorado Springs where he would start Brother Luck Street Eats. There he was honored as “Best Local Chef” by Colorado Springs Independent and “Most Cutting Edge Restaurant” by The Gazette Newspaper.

  • Throw a Party of One. Chef Anita Lo Is Serving up Delicious Recipes for Self
marketwatch.com/story/this-michelin-rated-chef-says-cooking-for-yourself-is-the-best-self-care-2018-10-30-11883742 By Jeanette Settembre Throw a party of one. Chef Anita Lo is serving up delicious recipes for self-love in her new cookbook: “Solo: A Modern Cookbook for a Party of One,” (Knopf, 2018) devoted to embracing those solitary moments in life. “It’s about celebrating you,” Lo told Moneyish of her second cookbook, out Tuesday. “We all need a little bit of time for ourselves. It’s nice to eat with people, but more often than not these days -- even if you’re in a long term relationship -- sometimes your spouses are working and you have to cook something for yourself.” Lo, a first generation Chinese-American who grew up in Birmingham, MI., has cooked in some of the world’s most renowned kitchens, including Bouley and Chanterelle in New York City. She opened her own restaurant in 2000, Annisa, serving upscale contemporary American cuisine in Greenwich Village for 17 years up until it closed last year. She held a Michelin star for nine consecutive years, served on “Top Chef Masters,” and became the first female guest chef to cook at the White House in 2015 for the Obamas. Now she’s here to tell eaters that solo meals don’t have to be boring or defrosted in a microwave, positioning herself as the ideal candidate to write the book. “I’ve been dumped almost as many times as I’ve been in relationships -- and I can count those on less than two hands … that’s a lot of solo meals,” she writes in the book.

  • Daryl Hall and William Shatner to Join Diy Network’S Celebrity Roster in 2014
DARYL HALL AND WILLIAM SHATNER TO JOIN DIY NETWORK’S CELEBRITY ROSTER IN 2014 NEW YORK (For Immediate Release—April 1, 2014) From celebrities tackling home remodels to regular folks renovating their homes, DIY Network will premiere seven new series that focus on the realities of home improvement. The network’s latest addition to its “celebrity home rehab” franchise, The Shatner Project, premieres in October and will follow the home renovation of actor William Shatner, instantly recognizable to television fans as the original Star Trek captain, James T. Kirk, commander of the starship U.S.S. Enterprise; Sergeant T.J. Hooker of T.J. Hooker and Attorney Denny Crane of Boston Legal. In July, the highly anticipated series, Daryl’s Restoration Over-Hall will premiere, starring singer/songwriter Daryl Hall from the musical duo Hall & Oates as he revives the historic charm of an 18th century Connecticut home. In addition, popular licensed contractor Jason Cameron will help homeowners smash their way to gorgeous new spaces by wrecking and remodeling their worst rooms in the new series, Sledgehammer. “DIY Network offers an authentic look at the realities of dealing with any home improvement project,” said Steven Lerner, senior vice president of programming development, HGTV and DIY Network. “When fans see Daryl Hall chasing his passion for historical rehab or William Shatner remodeling his outdated LA pad, they’re getting a glimpse of a real renovation – and they’re seeing that no matter who you are, the challenges that come with tackling a home remodel are universal.” Additional new DIY Network series will include First Time Flippers featuring overzealous property virgins who put their do-it-yourself real estate skills to the ultimate test and Stone Age which follows father and son duo, Steve and Nick Rhule, as they build amazing custom outdoor designs, including waterfalls, patios and fire pits, one rock at a time.
