Toronto, Canada – December 19, 2016 — Food Network Canada heats up the new year with a full lineup of heart racing competitions, buzz-worthy new shows, and culinary star power. Set to entertain and inspire, Food Network Canada introduces new series Star Plates and Ayesha’s Homemade, new specials Chopped: and Beat Bobby Flay: Kids Takeover as well as returning fan- favourite series Chopped Canada Teen, Sugar Showdown, and more.

New Series and Specials

Star Plates – CANADIAN PREMIERE Premieres January 6 at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. ET/PT Celebrities are stepping into their favourite kitchens to play the biggest role of their dreams - professional . On Food Network’s Star Plates celebrities including: Erin Andrews, Colin Hanks, Alyson Hannigan, Mindy Kaling, Minka Kelly and Busy Philipps are thrown into the fire for a culinary crash course as a line cook for their favourite chef in their restaurant kitchens.

Beat Bobby Flay: Kids Takeover – CANADIAN PREMIERE Premieres January 8 at 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. ET/PT. The competition is fierce as the chefs take on kid-friendly and kid-tested dishes in their quest to beat Bobby Flay. Special guests include , , 's amateur food critic Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, Girl Meets World star Rowan Blanchard, kid chefs Gibson Borelli and Tyler Zager, Food Network's and his daughter Ayla, 's , and 12-year-old Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis.

Chopped Canada Teen – WORLD PREMIERE Premieres January 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT Twenty of Canada’s best teen cooks battle it out in the Chopped Canada kitchen for a chance to win $10,000. Just like their adult counterparts, four young cooks face the clock – and each other – before a rotating panel of expert judges in each episode. Competitors between the ages of 14-17 from across Canada put their skill and ingenuity to the test in an attempt to turn baskets of mystery ingredients into an extraordinary three-course meal within a limited amount of time. Course by course, the judges decide which teen cooks will be "chopped" from the competition until only one remains. The last competitor standing will collect the cash and win the title of Chopped Canada Teen champion.

Chopped: Beat Bobby Flay – CANADIAN PREMIERE Premieres January 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT Two great Food Network forces collide in one incredible, four-part event. To win this tournament and $40,000, someone has to take down legendary chef Bobby Flay. Twelve returning Chopped champions bring their "A" games back to the Chopped Kitchen. No-nonsense Bobby throws down critiques as a judge in the preliminary competitions, where each basket features a surprise ingredient he has selected. The winner of each of the three preliminary battles moves on to a spectacular Grand Finale, where one Chopped Champion wins $15,000 plus a chance to go head-to-head against Bobby in a huge bonus round. Both chefs make the challenger's signature dish, with the added twist of having to use Chopped basket ingredients. If the challenger manages to beat Bobby Flay, they take home an additional $25,000.

Ayesha’s Homemade – CANADIAN PREMIERE Premieres February 19 at 1 p.m. ET/PT Ayesha is a cookbook author, super-foodie, mother of two, and loving wife to NBA player Stephen Curry, with a huge following on social media. While her life can get hectic corralling her two young daughters and juggling her career and marriage, Ayesha always makes time to eat well. Food has got to be fast to make it to her family table, so join Ayesha in her home as she shares her quick and tasty recipes with family and friends.
