1 TIMOTHY 4 Prophetic Forewarning, the Value of Sound Doctrine & Encouragement to Persevere
1 TIMOTHY 4 Prophetic Forewarning, the Value of Sound Doctrine & Encouragement to Persevere vv. 1-5 CONDITIONS IN THE CHURCH IN THE LATTER TIMES [1 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, 3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. 4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; 5 for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. ] After having given Timothy a description of the qualifications for pastors/overseers/bishops and deacons to promote the spiritual health and growth of the Church; he turns his attention to the future conditions of the Church. Why is this important? Because the Holy Spirit expressly communicates this truth; meaning He speaks clearly and often about this subject. Note that Paul talks about this again in his second letter to Timothy { 2 Tim. 3:1-13 } so it is an extremely important subject for every believer to consider and take seriously. Paul uses a noteworthy term for this period of time—‘in latter times ’. The Greek word for ‘times ’ here means a ‘ set or measured time ’; in other words, at an appropriate time . This is important to note because Paul could have used another word for ‘time’, [‘ chronos ’], which refers to an unspecified period or season of time. -
Christ the Lord: the Road to Cana Free
FREE CHRIST THE LORD: THE ROAD TO CANA PDF Anne Rice | 352 pages | 05 Feb 2009 | Cornerstone | 9780099484189 | English | London, United Kingdom Christ the Lord: The Road to Cana - By Br. Benet S. Exton It was a genuinely stirring display of piety, rich with the fruits of Ms. Emboldened by the success of this literary shape-shifting, the formerly raunchy Ms. And as it jumps forward toward the adulthood of its narrator, the new Ms. Rice steers the story toward passions that the old Ms. Rice understood. Rice describes this stage of his life with awe and respect. And she gives him a crush on one of his relatives, a year-old girl. Does he care about nothing but carpentry? Christ the Lord: The Road to Cana he devoid of interest in women? So the cattier residents of Nazareth seem to think. But Ms. Some of this historical detail calls for awkward mouthfuls of exposition. But the book is clear in purpose and bound for glory from this point on. And Ms. Here is when Yeshua transforms water into wine. Rice presents this miracle as she has the other biblical events on which her fiction is based: she decoratively embroiders the Gospels while fully respecting their message. In her version, the wedding becomes that of Avigail, who is an entirely fictitious character. The absence of wine at the wedding becomes calamitous, though the Bible describes it without alarm. Christ the Lord: The Road to Cana maintains. The book ends on a note of best-sellerly promise, mindful of how much more is yet to come. -

Greatest Hindrance to Try New Opportunities
The purpose of this class is NOT to make preachers, teachers or elders out of all who attend. We would encourage each one be attentive to developing and improve themselves in each area that we will study. As time, circumstances and maturity comes your way many things you can learn here in this class may become very important in your growth as a Christian. The Lord expects His people to conduct their worship services with a degree of refinement and respect. Proverbs 9:9 NKJV 9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. Always prepare mentally, physically & spiritually for every service! DRESS AND ACT REVERENTLY 1 Peter 1:13 WEB 13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action, be sober and set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ-- Goals for this class 1. To help each person to learn to serve the Lord and to serve this congregation, more effectively by have a fuller understanding of working together to reduce the distractions that can occur without good coordination as we go through the worship service. 2. A group of seventeen Christians, of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and involved in different ways in encounter with people of different faiths, gathered together in that holy place for a week to read the scriptures together, to offer one another various approaches to interpreting the passages selected here, and to bring to the texts the experiences and insights of their diverse contexts. All the studies offered here have in this way been piloted with an actual group, albeit in somewhat unusual circumstances, and in their present form revised in the light of that experience. -
Reading the Bible Supernaturally Will Move You to Captivated and Awestruck Worship at the Divine’S Plan for His Word As an Instru- Ment to Magnify His Unrivaled Glory
“Not many books should be recommended for both beginning Bible readers and mature Bible readers, but this is one of them. Utilizing brief and pointed expositions of often overlooked Bible verses, John Piper helpfully explains why we should be reading the Bible, the work of the Spirit in our Bible reading, and the fundamental skills and habits of faithful Bible reading. I cannot imagine a serious Christian who would not benefit from a thoughtful reading of this book.” D. A. Carson, Research Professor of New Testament, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School; Cofounder, The Gospel Coalition “I have been reading the Bible daily for thirty-five years. Reading the Bible Su- pernaturally challenged my motives, effort, and enjoyment. I doubt I will read the Scriptures the same way again. I look forward to deeper and more wonderful times alone in the Word in the days ahead. This book is a must-read for anyone wanting to take Bible study seriously.” Francis Chan, New York Times best-selling author, Crazy Love and Forgotten God “Stunning. Profound. Powerful. Reading the Bible Supernaturally will move you to captivated and awestruck worship at the Divine’s plan for his Word as an instru- ment to magnify his unrivaled glory. Seeing and savoring the God of the Scriptures is an extraordinarily high calling every believer must pursue, and no man can move us to that place quite like John Piper. This book, accessibly written and weighty in content, is so much more than a manual or study guide to the Scriptures. Rather, it’s an invitation to the experience God intended we have with his Word—an experience that is Spirit dependent, faith building, and worship inciting.” Louie Giglio, Pastor, Passion City Church, Atlanta; Founder, Passion Conferences; author, The Comeback “The seemingly mundane topic of reading the Bible ushers us into a world of su- pernatural grace for sinners. -
