  • LYGAEOIDEA La Superfamila Lygaeoidea (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Pentatomomorpha) Es Una De Las Mayores Y Más Diver- Sas, Con Más De 4000 Especies, De Heteroptera
Pablo Matías DELLAPÉ Abstract The superfamily Lygaeoidea (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: División Entomología, Museo de La Plata, Paseo del Pentatomomorpha) is one of the most diverse within the Bosque, 1900 La Plata, Argentina. Heteroptera, with more than 4000 species described. [email protected] The Lygaeoid habitats are diverse; there are arboreal, geophile and laminophile species.

© Norwegian Journal of Entomology. 21 June 2011 The stilt bugs (Heteroptera, Berytidae) of Norway FRODE ØDEGAARD & ARNSTEIN STAVERLØKK Ødegaard, F. & Staverløkk, A. 2011. The stilt bugs (Heteroptera, Berytidae) of Norway. Norwegian Journal of Entomology 58, 27–32. We here present confirmed records of the six species of stilt bugs (Berytidae) occurring in Norway. Berytinus clavipes (Fabricius, 1775) is reported for the first time from Norway. Several new county records for the other species of Berytidae are also presented. All species are illustrated with pictures of specimens from Norway. The reported records of Berytinus affinis in Warloe (1925) have for a long time led to confusion about which species of Berytinus Kirkaldy, 1900 being present in Norway. Here, we show that these specimens actually belong to the common B. minor (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1835). We conclude that it is not likely that more than these six species of Berytidae are to be found in Norway in the future. Key words: Hemiptera, Heteroptera, Berytidae, Norway. Frode Ødegaard & Arnstein Staverløkk, Norsk institutt for naturforskning, NINA. P. O. Box 5685 Sluppen, NO-7485 Trondheim, Norway. E-mail: [email protected] Introduction of Berytidae, but most species seem to be phytophagous and tied to various plant families. The stilt bugs (Berytidae) represent a small family While Metatropis rufescens is found in broad leaved of true bugs with 155 species and 45 genera in the forests, all the other species seem to be restricted Palearctic region (Aukema & Rieger 2001) Only to xerophilic dry meadows. The Berytinus species eight of these species are present in Scandinavia are normally associated with Fabaceae.

  • Introduction to True Bugs (Heteroptera) of the Neotropics
Chapter 1 Introduction to True Bugs (Heteroptera) of the Neotropics Antônio R. Panizzi and Jocêlia Grazia Abstract True bugs (Heteroptera) are a diverse and complex group of insects, particularly in the neotropics. The fauna ofthese bugs has been investigated through time, but our knowledge of the species living in the Neotropical Region is lirnited. ln this introductory chapter, we give a general view on true bugs c1assification and biogeography, with concise comments on their general characteristics and bioecology of each major taxon that comprise each of the seven infraorders of Heteroptera. 1.1 Introduction The true bugs (Heteroptera) constitute a very interesting widely distributed group of insects, which is greatly diversified in tropical zones. Considered the largest group of insects with incomplete metamorphosis, heteropterans have been studied on both basic and applied aspects worldwide. Along the years, several books have been published on Heteroptera, the majority on specific aspects, such as certain groups (taxa) of particular areas, and others on more general comprehensive issues. Of more broad interest, two books about the latter were published relatively recently. The first was dedicated to the c1assification and natural history of true bugs in particular, with insights on the history of the study of Heteroptera, how to collect and preserve true bugs, historical biogeogra- A.R. • Gampsocoris Lilianae Josifov, Was Found in Bulgaria
Acta entomologica serbica, 1999, 4 (1/2): 11-34 UDC 595.754 (497) BIODIVERSITY OF THE FAMILY BERYTIDAE (HETEROPTERA) IN FR YUGOSLAVIA AND IN THE BALAKAN PENINSULA LJ. PROTI} Natural History Museum, P.O. Box 401, YU-11000 Beograd The totals of 21 and 17 species of Berytidae family have been established in the Balkan Peninsula and Yugoslavia respectively. An endemic species, Gampsocoris lilianae Josifov, was found in Bulgaria. New species for the fauna of Yugoslavia are: Apoplymus pectoralis Fieber and Gampsocoris culicinus Seiddenstücker. The paper particularly considers the arrangement of Serbia by regions and the distribution of species within regions, as well as their biodiversi- ty compared to the neighbouring countries of the Balkan Peninsula. KEY WORDS: Heteroptera, Berytidae, Yugoslavia, Balkan Peninsula INTRODUCTION The fauna of the Berytidae family in the Balkan Peninsula has not yet been treated as the sole subject of a single paper. There exist only faunisti- cal papers which consider the Berytidae together with other families (GÖLLNER-SCHEIDING 1978, HOBERLANDT 1955, HORVÁTH 1897, JOSIFOV 1964, 1965, PROTI} 1988/89, PUTCHKOV 1974, STICHEL 1955-1962). The most comprehensive data on the species of the Berytidae family can be found in the monograph of Euro-Mediterranean region (PÉRICART 1984). According to the available literature, a total of 21 species of the Berytidae family has so far been established in the Balkan Peninsula. An endemic species, Gampsocoris lilianae Josifov, was found in Bulgaria (JOSIFOV 1958). The paper particularly considers the arrangement of Serbia by regions and the distribution of species within regions, as well as their biodiversity Acta ent.
