E-mail: [email protected] Abstract The first synoptic catalogue of Reduviidae is given to Uruguay including nine subfamilies, Ectrichodiinae (4), Emesinae (1), Hammacerinae (1), Harpactorinae (11), Peiratinae (4), Phymatinae (3), Reduviinae (5), Stenopodainae (7), Triatominae (9), being Harpactorinae and Triatominae the best represented by eleven and nine species respectively. Criceptopareis tucumana (Berg) is mentioned for the first time for Uruguay and is confirmed the distribution for Atrachelus cinereus (Fabricius), Melanolestes argentinus Berg, Rasahus hamatus (Fabricius), Zelurus femoralis femoralis (Stål), Diaditus semicolon Stål, Triatoma infestans (Klug) and Triatoma rubrovaria (Blanchard) from the material belonging to the Museo de La Plata (Argentina). This information is of valuable for insect’s conservation biodiversity programs. Keywords: Reduviidae, Heteroptera, Uruguay, Synonymies, Distribution Introduction Reduviidae is one of the five largest families of Heteroptera, comprising about 981 genera and more than 6878 spe- cies, with most occurring in the tropics (Henry 2009). Reduviids take place in all biogeographical regions (Schuh & Slater 1995). They are voracious predators of insects and arthropods (Ambrose 2006); nevertheless some like Triatominae species are hematophagous and important vector of Chagas Disease (Coscarón 2002). -

STREITO 3 Depuis la parution du volume Coreoidea de la série « Faune de France », de nombreuses publications, essentiellement faunistiques, ont paru qui permettent de préciser les données bio-écologiques ou la distribution de nombreuses espèces. Parmi ces publications il convient de signaler la « Checklist » de FARACI & RIZZOTTI-VLACH (1995) pour l’Italie, celle de V. PUTSHKOV & P. PUTSHKOV (1997) pour l’Ukraine, la seconde édition du « Verzeichnis der Wanzen Mitteleuropas » par GÜNTHER & SCHUSTER (2000) et l’impressionnante contribution de DOLLING (2006) dans le « Catalogue of the Heteroptera of the Palaearctic Region ». En outre, certains travaux qui m’avaient échappé ou m’étaient inconnus lors de la préparation de cet ouvrage ont été depuis ré-analysés ou étudiés. Fecha de defensa: 15 de marzo de 2019 1 Estudio de la diversidad de insectos asociados a las plagas principales de Eucalyptus spp., para la selección de potenciales agentes de control biológico Resumen Las plagas de eucaliptos más importantes en la Argentina son Glycaspis brimblecombei, Thaumastocoris peregrinus y Leptocybe invasa, todas ellas de reciente aparición en nuestro país. El abordaje más efectivo al problema de las plagas forestales es el manejo integrado, que combina diferentes tácticas entre las que se incluye el control biológico. El objetivo de esta tesis fue estudiar la diversidad de insectos asociados a Eucalyptus spp., con énfasis en las asociaciones tróficas que vinculan a G. brimblecombei y T. peregrinus con sus enemigos naturales (parasitoides/predadores), con el fin de identificar potenciales agentes para su control biológico. Se investigaron las variaciones en la abundancia de G. brimblecombei, T. peregrinus y L. invasa y la influencia de las variables meteorológicas en diferentes especies de eucaliptos. Drake and Florence A. Ruhoff Introduction A treatise of the generic names of the family Tingidae from a global standpoint embodies problems similar to those frequently encountered in corresponding studies in other animal groups. The more im- portant criteria, including such basic desiderata as fixation of type species, synonyms, priority, and dates of technical publications implicate questions concomitant with recent trends toward the clarification and stabilization of zoological nomenclature. Zoogeography, predicated and authenticated on the generic level by the distribution of genera and species, is portrayed here by means of tables, charts, and maps of the tingifauna of the world. This visual pattern of distribution helps one to form a more vivid concept of the family and its hierarchic levels of subfamilies and genera. To a limited extent the data indicate distributional concentrations and probable centers of evolution and dispersal paths of genera. The phylogenetic relationship of genera is not discussed. These figures, collated with similar categories in Lethierry and Severin (1896), show that there has been an increase of many genera and hundreds of species of Tingidae during the past three- quarters of a century. -

Peck Department of Biology, Carleton University, 1125 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, Ontario K1S 5B6, Canada stewart_peck@carleton. ca Abstract. The beetle fauna of the island of Dominica is summarized. It is presently known to contain 269 genera, and 361 species (in 42 families), of which 347 are named at a species level. Of these, 62 species are endemic to the island. The other naturally occurring species number 262, and another 23 species are of such wide distribution that they have probably been accidentally introduced and distributed, at least in part, by human activities. Undoubtedly, the actual numbers of species on Dominica are many times higher than now reported. This highlights the poor level of knowledge of the beetles of Dominica and the Lesser Antilles in general. Of the species known to occur elsewhere, the largest numbers are shared with neighboring Guadeloupe (201), and then with South America (126), Puerto Rico (113), Cuba (107), and Mexico-Central America (108). The Antillean island chain probably represents the main avenue of natural overwater dispersal via intermediate stepping-stone islands. The distributional patterns of the species shared with Dominica and elsewhere in the Caribbean suggest stages in a dynamic taxon cycle of species origin, range expansion, distribution contraction, and re-speciation. However, collections in the Entomology Museum of Michigan State University (MSU), East Lansing, and in the Museum of Zoology of the University of Michigan (UMMZ), Ann Arbor, indicate that collecting has been extensive throughout the state (Fig. 1). The key and annotated list are based on material I identified in these two collections. -

Alberto Lamego 2000, 28013-600, Campos dos Goytacazes, RJ Neotropical Entomology 34(5):769-776 (2005) Trajetórias Ontogenéticas e Morfometria Geométrica das Tíbias de Holymenia clavigera (Herbst) e Anisoscelis foliacea marginella (Dallas) (Hemiptera: Coreidae) RESUMO - Holymenia clavigera (Herbst) e Anisoscelis foliacea marginella (Dallas) (Hemiptera: Coreidae: Anisoscelini) são hemípteros pouco estudados e que ocorrem no sul do Brasil. Observações preliminares indicam alta coexistência no uso de suas plantas hospedeiras (passifloráceas). Adicionalmente, há uma acentuada semelhança morfológica dos ovos e ninfas. Objetiva-se caracterizar e comparar as suas trajetórias ontogenéticas através de curvas de crescimento e da alometria ontogenética multivariada, uma vez que a única diferença aparente entre as espécies é uma dilatação da tíbia no terceiro par de pernas de A. foliacea marginella. Por não apresentarem as formas das tíbias distintas visualmente nos primeiro e segundo ínstares, as diferenças entre as espécies foram quantificadas pela função spline de placas finas, com o relaxamento do algoritmo para pontos em contorno. Em todos os ínstares, H. clavigera foi significativamente maior que A foliacea marginella. As trajetórias ontogenéticas dos coreídeos foram estatisticamente diferentes, e as estruturas mensuradas apresentaram coeficientes alométricos significativamente distintos.
