LOCATION On the southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, facing the gorgeous island of Saona and Catalina. 72 Miles / 115 km, from Las Americas International Airport (approx. 1 hr. 40 min. drive), 62 Miles /100 km, from Punta Cana Airport (approx. 1 hr. 15 min. drive), 11 Miles /18 km, from La Romana International Airport /own (approx. 15 min. drive, 25 min.from La Romana. Voltage 110. The island of La Hispaniola was discovered by Christopher Columbus on December 5, 1492. Which is located in the Center of the Caribbean Sea. It is the second largest of the Greater Antilles, Cuba being the largest. The Island is shared by two nations: The Republic of Haiti and the Dominican Republic.The country has seven airports: Las Américas International and Herrera in Santo Domingo; Punta Aguila and Punta Cana in the Eastern regions; María Montez in Barahona; Gregorio Luperon, Puerto Plata and Del Cibao, in Santiago de los Caballeros. The Main roads that begin in the city of Santo Domingo and conect the entire country are: the Duarte highway towards the South and Southwest regions and Las Américas highway, uniting Santo Domingo with the Southeast.

WEATHER The climate of the coastal zone is warm and Tropical; it is cooler in the cen- tral region. The average temperature throughout the entire year is 25 C ( 77 F).

LANGUAGE The official language of the Dominican Republic is Spanish. It is very common to find English, French, Italian and German speaking people at important tourist destinations.

CURRENCY The national currency is the Dominican Peso. Its value varies in accordance to the value of the U.S. dollar and is established by market forces.

14 KIDS CLUB Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach offers the Viva Wyndham Kids Club, where we receive boys and girls from 4 to 12 years of age under the supervision of our animation staff that will make them have a great time. The Viva Wyndham Kids Club is located next to the central building of Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach the facilities offer rest rooms for boys and girls, play area with games, a video room and roof play area fenced in for more security. The animation team will take the kids to eat at our restaurant La Terraza so parents can participate in other activities while the kids are at the club.

An ancient anchor 12-15ft/4-5m long, lies on this reef conceal by a small garden of coral. Shore dive, perfect for night dive PARQUE, CASA ESTRELLA, AQUARIO, ANGUILLAS PARADISE 40ft 12m These 4 shallow reefs are found in front of “Parque Nacional del Este”. Here you will find a large variety of coral, soft coral, sponges and sea fans, you can also find barracudas, Nassau groupers, spotted eels, green moray, spotted sting rays, angel fish, star fish and porcupine fish. Perfect for beginners or novice divers. QUASIMILLA, EL FARO 54ft 16m This beautiful reef is a flat garden with many types of coral and sponges. The abundance of sponges has created a perfect environment for turtles and lobsters. At certain times of the year it is also possi- ble to see huge schools of jack fish and snapper, barracudas and other large fish. This dive site is a light current dive. TORTUGA 70ft20m This beautiful reef is a flat garden with many types of coral and sponges, easy to see turtles and lobsters. It is also possible to see huge schools of jack fish and snappers, barracudas and other large fish. This dive is a light current dive. BAJO DE LA MINA 60-100ft 18-30m Reef in front of La Romana, on the way to Catalina Island, where you will find green and black coral and huge sponges of many different colors, easy to find green moray eels, turtles, grouper and reef sharks. This dive is for expert divers. CATALINA CANYON, CATALINA WALL 100ft 30m These walls lies at 15ft/5m, in the drop of you can find green and black coral and huge sponges. It is also possi- ble to see sharks, turtle and moray eels. The abundance of sponges, sea fan and soft coral, has created a perfect environment for schools of colored fish such as angelfish, butterfly fish and pork fish. Barracudas, groupers and horse eye jacks are also common. These are wall dives. THE ST. GEORGE She lies at 135ft/44m. This wreck is a 240ft/80m cargo. In the 1998 was deeply damaged by Hurricane George. It was sunk in front of Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach in 1999 to create an artificial reef. The new marine life finds, in this shipwreck, the best condition for growth and with the time this dive will be the amazing dive spot of this zone.
