Ulla Lohmann, born 6.6.77, is a German photojournalist and documentary filmmaker with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management.

Ulla has worked for renown magazines and broadcasters, including National Geographic, GEO, BBC, Red Bull Media House, Stern View, New York Times. Her photographs were on exhibit at renown Visa pour l’Image and her multi visions shows engage people around the world. Together with her husband Sebastian Hofmann, Ulla has published a coffee-table book about the Dolomite Mountains for National Geographic.

Ulla loves adventures. No matter if she climbs the highest volcano on the planet in Chile with almost 7000 Meters, if she dives with hammerhead sharks on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, if she abseils into active volcanoes in the Pacific, or if she Rock climbs alpine routes in the Dolomites, her camera is always with her.

She loves the challenge of photographing whilst on expedition, but can also wait for days in a hide to get behavior photographs of animals, engineer for weeks to get her camera into a certain position or certain angle or photograph for years the same tribe who performs secret mummification rituals in Papua New Guinea. She won’t rest until her photographs tell a compelling story.

Ulla lives together with her husband Sebastian Hofmann south of Munich in Bavaria.
