Preamble 1.1 In line with the Sectoral Agreement pertaining to the Allied Health Professionals employed within the Public Service signed on the 14 February 2013, the Director (Resourcing and Employee Relations), Ministry for Health and the Director (Corporate Services), Ministry for Family, Children’s Rights and Social Solidarity, invite applications from Public Officers in the Malta Public Service in the grade of Allied Health Professional to express their interest to carry out the Competence Assessment and Evaluation Framework with a view to being promoted to the grade of Senior Allied Health Professional in Salary Scale 8. 1.2 Vacancies exist as follows: (a) Audiology within the Ministry for Health; (b) Dental Hygiene within the Ministry for Health; (c) Dental Technology within the Ministry for Health; (d) Medical Laboratory Technology/Science within the Ministry for Health; (e) Occupational Therapy within the Ministry for Health; (f) Orthoptics within the Ministry for Health; (g) Physiotherapy within the Ministry for Health; (h) Podiatry within the Ministry for Health; (i) Speech and Language Pathology within the Ministry for Health; (j) Radiography within the Ministry for Health; (k) Occupational Therapy within the Department of Active Aging and Community Care Department (DAACC), Ministry for the Family, Children’s Rights and Social Solidarity; (l) Physiotherapy within the Department of Active Aging and Community Care Department (DAACC), Ministry for the Family, Children’s Rights and Social Solidarity; (m) Podiatry within the Department of Active Aging and Community Care Department (DAACC), Ministry for the Family, Children’s Rights and Social Solidarity; (n) Occupational Therapy within St. Vincent De Paul Long Term Care Facility, Ministry for the Family, Children’s Right and Social Solidarity; (o) Physiotherapy within St. Vincent De Paul Long Term Care Facility, Ministry for the Family, Children’s Right and Social Solidarity; (p) Podiatry within St. Vincent De Paul Long Term Care Facility, Ministry for the Family, Children’s Right and Social Solidarity; (q) Dental Hygiene within St. Vincent De Paul Long Term Care Facility, Ministry for the Family, Children’s Right and Social Solidarity; (r) Speech and Language Pathology within St. Vincent De Paul Long Term Care Facility, Ministry for the Family, Children’s Right and Social Solidarity. 2. Eligibility requirements 2.1 By the closing time and date of this call for applications, applicants must be public officers a) with at least five (5) years service as Allied Health Professional (with Diploma) in Salary Scale 9; OR b) with at least four (4) years service as Allied Health Professional (with Degree) in Salary Scale 9; OR c) who are in Scale 8 and in possession of a Masters Degree at MQF Level 7 (subject to a minimum of 60 ECTS/ECVET credits or equivalent, with regard to programmes commencing as from October 2008). 2.2. Successful candidates eligible under paragraph 2.1. will receive a Competence Assessment Framework Applicant Guide and an invitation to attend a dissemination session in order to begin the process. 3. Publication of result 3.1. The result of the selection process is to be approved by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Health and by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for the Family, Children’s Rights and Social Solidarity. 4. Submission of expression of interest 4.1 Applications are to be submitted, for the attention of the Resourcing and Employee Relations Directorate, Ministry for Health, 15, Palazzo Castellania, Merchants Street, Valletta, VLT 1171 or the Corporate Services Directorate, Ministry for the Family, Children’s Rights and Social Solidarity, 38, Ordnance Street, Valletta, VLT 2000, through the Recruitment Portal only at the following address: https://recruitment.gov.mt Applications are to include a curriculum vitae (which should include a list of qualifications held by applicant), and an updated Service and Leave Record Form (GP47), in pdf format which are to be uploaded through the Portal. Garden Point survivors, many of whom travelled to Darwin from all over Australia, agreed yesterday to settle the case, and Maxine Kunde (ABC News/Tiffany Parker) received an informal apology from representatives of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart and the Daughters of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, in a private session.Ms Kunde said members of the group were looking forward to getting a formal public apology which they had been told would be delivered in a few weeks’ time. Darwin Bishop Charles Gauci said on behalf of the diocese he apologised to those who were abused at Garden Point.

Wang said with the joint efforts of both nations, the celebrations during Chinese Lunar New Year have developed into one of Valletta’s annual events, contributing to the mutual understanding and cultural communication between China and Malta. During the celebration, 18 major activities will be staged, including livestreaming, exhibitions, film screenings, a parade, a temple fair, a Chinese ancient poetry reading and other festival celebrations by Chinese artists.     MALTESE E-NEWSLETTER 226 July 2018 1 MALTESE E-NEWSLETTER 226 July 2018 Pope Francis appoints Adelaide’s Fr Charles Gauci as the seventh Bishop of Darwin Bishop-elect Charles Gauci Pope Francis has appointed Fr Charles Gauci, administrator of St Francis Xavier’s Cathedral in Adelaide, as the seventh Bishop of Darwin. Fr Gauci was born into a faith-filled family in Malta and arrived in Australia as a 13-year-old. He was ordained for Adelaide in 1977 and has served in parishes across the Archdiocese. He has also held a number of archdiocesan leadership roles, including as chairman of the Council of Priests. Australian Catholic Bishops Conference president Archbishop Mark Coleridge welcomed the appointment, announced 27 June, saying he will be “a great gift to the Church in Darwin with all its challenges and also a good addition to the Bishops Conference”. Known for his deep spirituality and commitment to evangelisation, Fr Charles has served as a pastor in parishes, a school chaplain, spiritual director and retreat leader, Archbishop Coleridge said. The bishops’ conference reports that Fr Gauci was born into a faith-filled family in Malta and arrived in Australia as a 13-year old. He was ordained for Adelaide in 1977 and has served in parishes across the Archdiocese. He has also held a number of archdiocesan leadership roles, including as chairman of the Council of Priests. Fr Gauci said he was introduced to the life of the Diocese of Darwin and the faith of the community there when he was invited to lead a retreat for the priests of the diocese about three years ago.
