MERU FARMERS’ FAIR 19-20-21 NOVEMBER 2015 KIKATITI - ARUSHA Meru farmers’ fair, in brief: This second edition of the agri-business fair, organized by a consortium of organizations of agricultural sector in Tanzania and led by farmers’ representatives, will be an opportunity for actors of the sector to meet, to advertise, to debate, learn and make business. To be noted: 3 full days from 19th to 21st of November 2015 from 9 am to 5 pm At Kikatiti, Meru district, Arusha region, important market place for farmers of all Meru district (on the tarmac road between Usa River and KIA Airport) 6,000 visitors last year, but an improved advertisement strategy this year: More than 4,000 visitors expected per day, being more than 12,000 in total A specific focus on major commodities produced in Meru: Vegetables and coffee Cereals and oilseeds Poultry and Dairy (cows and goats) Lecture sessions and debates: « farming as a business », « Saving or getting credits? Introduction to financial management for farmers », « common purchase of inputs for farmers’ groups », « importance of good quality seeds », « post-harvest practicies in cereals and oilseeds » Exhibitors and visitors from a broad range of actors: private sector, farmers’ organizations and individual farmers, government and representative bodies, support organizations (NGOs, donor agencies, …), financial institutions (banks, SACCOs, etc.) How to participate?
