This is the 62nd expansion of Magic and was released on September 27, 2013. Theros is a great extension. The Set of Details (edited editing source) Theros contains 249 maps (20 main lands, 101 common, 60 unusual, 53 rare, 15 mythical rare), and includes randomly inserted premium versions of all cards. The set has an ancient Greek themed design from top to bottom, using many mythological tropes (Heroes, Monsters and Gods). This is the first set to be set on the Tedos plane. It's mostly monochrome with a handful of gold cards. The Theros block is an enchanting block that reproduces building blocks in the M14 and Return to Ravnica. Mood and tone is a Greek myth: adventure, achievements, achievements, hero's journey. Many existing types of creatures are redesigned according to Greek taste. Apart from the Minotaurs, this is not a tribal set. There are three Planeswalkers in the set, namely Elspeth and two new ones: Ashiok and Xenagos. There is an above average number of legendary permanents. The symbol of expansion depicts a stylized temple and an altar. Storyline (edit source editing) Main articles: Theros (airplane) and Theros: Godsend, Part I Theros is under the theme of a pantheon of 15 powerful gods. The gods, although living in Nix, are able to take different forms and often walk among mortals. Each of them also has a unique color identity. The five main gods are monochrome and form the central pillars of the Teroz belief system. The color identities of these five: Helio (white), Thassa (blue), Erebos (black), Purphoros (red), and Nylea (green). Ten minor gods represent two-color pairings and were introduced later to the Bourne Gods and Journey to the Knicks. After the planes depart from New Firexia, Elspeth finds himself on a vaguely familiar plane, Theros. Although she visited once years ago when she acquired her sword, she remains relatively unaware of the nature of the aircraft, namely theology. Snake priests in the Temple dedicated to Farik help her return to full strength while she reflects on her experience with Cat, Wenzer, Tezzeret, Karn, and Melira in New Firexia. Most of all Elspeth just wants a peaceful life like the one she had on Bunt before Conflux. However, the gods have different plans on Tedos. Walking through the forests of Teros, Elspeth comes face to face with a deadly hydro, already killing many heroes of Therosia. After a fierce battle, she becomes the winner. Helio, taking to the Liv attention for her feat, is now keen to make Elspeth her champion. Xenagos (editing source) Satire was born in the plane Theros, Xenagos spent most of his life messing with his clan of fellow satire. His favorite activities included partying and drinking while his planeswalker sparked and he was able to get away from Having visited many planes and saw the expanses of the Multiverse, his return to his native plane did not come with a sense of home. Now he could see how insignificant his life was before his awakening and even still after. Driven by a desire for power, his mission now is to enter therosian pantheon like a god. Maps of heroes debuted as part of the Path of Hero. These cards are not for use in tournament decks, but are instead awarded to players for completing quests along the Path of Hero. They can use them to defeat later quests. Each card is a duplicitous, one side with a redemption code to Reach Planeswalker Points while other side features game mechanics players can use to help win the Game Day Challenge Deck. Preliminary editing (source of editing) The first quest on The Path of Hero was during the Pre-Reise Tedos on September 21 and 22, 2013. There, players could choose their heroic path based on their favorite mana color (white, blue, black, red or green), get a Seeded Prerelease package and join other heroes on a social hunt for garbage men. The Seeded Prerelease package contained a spindown life counter, a hero card unique to the player's chosen path (respectively, defender, philosopher, avenger, warrior, and one of five quiz-up cards, five Theros boosters, and seeded seeds with cards suitable for that player's chosen path (including one of the five Prerelease promo cards). During the construction of decks and match games players could work together to find answers about Theros on their card activity. This social scavenger hunt offered players the opportunity to engross themselves in the knowledge of the new unit and interact with their fellow heroes. Once the player has filled out the card, he or she can check the answer key to see if they have completed it correctly. The launch of Theros' Weekend Editing Source launched to the public on September 27, 2013 and kicked off Friday Night Magic. Path Hero quest and #2 players to your shop to get a gift from the gods by solving a puzzle hidden in a poster puzzle.
