Njegov sodobnik je dejal, da je Bach na primer igral Sonate in partite za solo violino na čembalo, pri čemer je dodal toliko harmonije ali basov, kot se mu je zdelo potrebno. Poleg tega imamo primere Bachovih priredb tako tujih kot lastnih skladb. Bach torej za lutnjo ni pisal novih del posebej za ta instrument, temveč je predeloval svoje skladbe, ki so že obstajale, v druge oblike. Edin Karamazov si tako ne prizadeva, da bi neskončno dokazoval, da so takoimenovane Bachove skladbe za lutnjo zares izvorno namenjene za ta instrument, temveč raje vzame dela za solo violino ali čelo in jih spremeni v nove skladbe za lutnjo. In das Programm sind Sonette und Reden aus den Stücken von Shakespeare eingewebt, die zusammen mit musikalischen Zwischenspielen auf Laute und der kunstlosen Einfachheit des Volksliedes einen Abend schaffen, der reich an Geschichten von Liebe ist. Der in Deutschland geborene Andreas Scholl begann seine frühe musikalische Ausbildung beim Kiedricher Chorbuben Chor. Später studierte er bei Richard Levitt und René Jacobs an der Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Er hat zahlreiche Preise gewonnen, darunter den renommierten ECHO Award für seine eigene Komposition für das Hörbuch der Deutschen Grammophon zu Hans Christian Andersens „The Emperor's New Clothes und The Nightingale“. 2005 war er der erste Countertenor, der jemals zur berühmten „Last Night of the Proms“ eingeladen wurde. Andreas Scholl ist regelmäßig Gast großer, internationaler Festivals, Konzerthäuser und Opernbühnen. Edin Karamazov hat mit seinen mitreißend virtuosen Auftritten als Lautenist und Gitarrist weltweit die Aufmerksamkeit der Musikwelt auf sich gelenkt, auch mit Ensembles und Künstlern wie dem Hilliard Ensemble, Hesperion XX, Andreas Scholl sowie mit Sting.     34th Annual Season June 22-29, 2014 Welcome to the 34th annual Baroque Music Festival, Corona del Mar! ontinuing the tradition established by maestro Burton Karson in 1981, the CFestival marks its 34th annual season this year with five concerts over an eight-day period, presented in period style. Each concert will be preceded by brass music performed al fresco, and followed by a wine and waters reception to which audience members are cordially invited to mingle with the musicians. There is much to be excited about in this year’s Festival. The eminent vio- linist Elizabeth Blumenstock, now in her fourth year as Artistic Director, has created a collection of programs that will delight, surprise and educate. After our traditional concerto program on the opening Sunday afternoon, the middle three programs of the week illustrate how the Baroque era grew out of what came before it and evolved into what came later. Our survey begins on Monday night with “Whence Baroque?,” a program of late Renaissance and early Ba- roque madrigals. Wednesday evening offers “Dawn of the Baroque,” exploring early Baroque arias, sonatas, canzonas, dances and capriccios from Italy featur- ing cornetto and sackbut. Our historical overview ends on Friday night with “Whither Baroque?,” a program of late Baroque and early Classical chamber pieces played by beloved Festival regulars. And our Sunday-afternoon Festival Finale this year is called “300 Years On,” featuring composers and works re- lated to the milestone year of 1714.
