Two types of calls were identified: advertisement call and aggressive call. Each types were represented by two different characteristics thus four types of calls were examined. The kruskall and wallis test was used to test the difference of nine features. Pearson’s correlation test also used to determine the relationship of all call features to air temperature and body size. Dominant frequency of all call types was relatively similar. Advertisement calls type I was emitted in short duration and fewer notes than advertisement call type II. Aggressive call type I and have longer call duration compared to both of advertisement call. However the introductory note of aggressive call type II was more longer than the others. Aggressive call of L. hasseltii tended to be discrete (territorial and encounter) and represented two different continuums. This were caused by the extreme differences of both calls in duration and distance between males when emitting calls. Dominan frequencies of all call types inverse correlated with body size of frogs. Most of temporal features of advertisement call type II correlated with body size and only call duration were longer with increasingly air temperature. Interpulse-interval and pulse period were more longer by increasing the body size, while the introductory note, pulse rate and pulse repetition rate were becoming shortened and it could predict male body size to facilitated competition between males, thus serves as mate selection indicator. Key words: advertisement call, agressif call, Leptobrachium hasseltii, Situgunung resort, social interaction ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan album suara katak serasah Leptobrachium hasseltii dari Resort Situgunung Taman Nasional Gunung-Gede Pangrango. Dua tipe suara teridentifikasi: suara promosi diri dan suara agresif. Setiap tipe suara diwakili oleh dua karakteristik berbeda sehingga empat tipe suara diperiksa. Uji kruskall dan wallis digunakan untuk menguji perbedaan 9 fitur suara. Uji pearson’s correlation juga digunakan untuk menentukan hubungan semua fitur suara terhadap suhu udara dan ukuran tubuh. Frequensi dominan semua tipe suara relatif serupa. Suara promosi diri tipe I disiarkan dalam durasi yang singkat dan jumlah nada lebih sedikit dari pada suara promosi diri tipe II. Suara agresif tipe I memiliki durasi suara lebih panjang dibanding suara kedua tipe promosi diri. Meskipun demikian nada pengantar suara agresif tipe II lebih panjang dari tipe suara lainnya. Suara agresif L. hasseltii bersifat diskrit (territorial and encounter) dan merepresentasikan dua kontinum berbeda. Hal ini disebabkan perbedaan yang ekstrim kedua suara dalam durasi dan jarak antar katak jantan saat menyiarkan suara. Frekuensi dominan keempat tipe suara berbanding terbalik terhadap ukuran tubuh katak. Sebagian besar fitur temporal suara promosi diri tipe II berkorelasi dengan ukuran tubuh dan hanya durasi suara yang memanjang dengan meningkatnya suhu udara. Jeda nada dan periode suara lebih panjang dengan bertambahnya ukuran tubuh, sementara nada pembuka, pulse rate, dan pulse repetition rate menjadi lebih pendek dan suara promosi diri tipe II ini dapat memprediksi ukuran tubuh dan sebagai fitur yang terlibat dalam kompetisi antar katak jantan, dan sebagai fitur untuk seleksi seksual. The purpose of this study was to know the diversity of reptiles and amphibian through the existence of herpetofauna species, microhabitat and indicator species. Data was collected during the rainy season, once a month in the period of three months from October 2017 to January 2018 at night. Data collection was conducted using the Virtual Encounter Survey method with different zones and limited by time. The collected specimens were identified with the guidance of literatures. The collected specimens were then preserved at the Animal Physiology Laboratory, Department of Biology, State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. Then, the data was analyzed to obtain the diversity index, frequency and dominance. The result showed that the number of reptiles found in the location site was seven species consisting of Famili Gekkonidae, Scincidae, Agamidae and Elapidae. Mean while for the species of amphibians, it was obtained nine species consisting of Famili Bufonidae, Ranidae, Rhacophoridae, Dicroglossidae, and Microhylidae. The ecosystem consisted of four habitat types including terrestrial, arboreal, semi-aquatic and aquatic. However, based on the value of diversity index, relative frequency, and dominance value, as well as the indicator species, this area has a relatively low diversity, the disturbed environment and therefore conservation efforts need to be undertaken.

The ecosystem that surrounds Gunungkelir stream looks natural and unpolluted, it is possible for good living environment of amphibians. However, the database about diversity of Amphibians in Gunungkelir stream has not been revealed. This research was done to study species diversity, species richness, species composition and distribution of amphibians in Gunungkelir stream as an effort to support the sustainability of amphibians live from extinction. The research was done on January-May 2009, at night. The VES (Visual Encounter Survey) method with line transects 250 m were used. A total 11 species of amphibians from 6 different amphibia families were identified. Phrynoidis aspera, Leptobrachium hasseltii and Hylarana chalconota are dominant species. The higest percentage of amphibians population was tadpole (38%), followed by male (35%), female (21%), and the least were juvenile (6%). During the survey, different species of amphibians were observed with their own range of spatial distribution. Kondisi lingkungan di sekitar sungai Gunungkelir terlihat masih alami dan belum tercemar, sehingga memungkinkan hidup beranekaragam amfibi. Akan tetapi, data mengenai keanekaragaman amfibi yang hidup di sekitar sungai tersebut masih belum ada. It causes cutaneous mycosis (fungal infection of the skin), or more specifically chytridiomycosis, in wild and captive amphibians. First described in 1998, the fungus is the only chytrid known to parasitise vertebrates. Diagnosis is by identification of characteristic intracellular flask-shaped sporangia (spore containing bodies) and septate thalli. The fungus grows in the superficial keratinised layers of the epidermis (known as the stratum corneum and stratum granulosum). The normal thickness of the stratum corneum is between 2µm to 5µm, but a heavy infection by the chytrid parasite may cause it to thicken to up to 60 µm. The fungus also infects the mouthparts of tadpoles (which are keratinised) but does not infect the epidermis of tadpoles (which lacks keratin).

It is a medium sized member of the genus Leptobrachium. In life, the frog is distinguished by the combi- nation of a series of morphological characters from its congeners. Its entirely greyish-blue coloured eyes differentiate the species from all other species in the genus but Leptobrachium waysepuntiense. The morphological comparison is based on a table of 16 characters discriminant in Leptobrachium species. Key words: Leptobrachium, Leptobrachium bompu, Megophryidae, Eaglenest, description Introduction The genus Leptobrachium described by Tschudi (1838) and belonging to the family Megophryidae Bonaparte, 1850 consists of 27 known species worldwide (Frost 2010). Traditionally this genus has been divided into two groups, either recognized as genera (Fei et al. 2009) or as subgenera of a single genus (Dubois & Ohler 1998). In these classifications, species with males bearing horny spines on upper lip have been allocated to Vibrissaphora Liu, 1945 whereas the species without such a secondary sexual character were grouped into Leptobrachium. However, findings by Zheng & Fu (2008) on the phylogeny of species allocated to the subgenera Vibrissa- phora and Leptobrachium have revealed that the species allocated to these two subgenera, do not form monophyl- etic groups; hence Vibrissaphora should be considered a synonym of Leptobrachium.
