Ntr Trust News Bulletin - 11 NTR TRUST NEWS BULLETIN - 11 We are happy to share with you the NTR Trust e-News Bulletin for the months of January and February 2017. We will be happy to have your feedback. HIGHLIGHTS 1. We celebrated 20 years of our commitment to the service of human-kind. During 1997 to 2017, we have continued to work for the upliftment of the poor and needy and positively impacted the lives of 1.6 million people across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. NTR Trust’s 20th Anniversary celebrations took place at all our operational locations in which the entire Trust team has actively taken part. Trustees Smt.Nara Bhuvaneswari & Smt. Nara Brahmani lead the 20th anniversary celebrations at NTR Trust Bhavan, Hyderabad. 2. Remembering the Legend Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) on his 21st death anniversary, a commemoration event titled “Telugu vaari jnapakam ( )” was organized on 18 ​ ​ ెలగ ాజపకం January, 2017. As part of this, a prototype of NTR Museum was inaugurated by our Trustee Shri Nara Lokesh at Siddhartha College Grounds in Vijayawada. During the week-long exhibition the prototype Museum attracted about 70,000 footfalls. 3. Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh visited NTR Museum. He walked down the memory lane and fondly recalled his association with the legendary actor-turned-leader Sri NTR. 4. On the occasion of Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s (NTR) 21st Vardhanthi ( ), NTR Trust ​ వరం conducted its flagship programme “Legendary Blood Donation Drive” (LBD). LBD was successfully inaugurated by our Managing Trustee Smt. Nara Bhuvaneswari & Trustee Smt. Nara Brahmani on 18 January 2017 at Hyderabad and Vijayawada respectively. About 14,500 volunteer donors donated blood through LBD across 170 locations in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. WE WORK THE TALK www.ntrtrust.org |1 ​ ​ EDUCATION Key Activities: 1. NTR Trust in collaboration with Radio City 91.1 FM conducted an interactive session on “Advantages of becoming a media professional” with students of NTR Model School, Gandipet. On the occasion of Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s (NTR) 21st Vardhanthi ( ), NTR Trust ​ వరం conducted a crown jewel programme called “Legendary Blood Donation Drive - (LBD)”. LBD was gracefully launched by our Managing Trustee Shri. Nara Bhuvaneswari & Trustee Shri Nara Brahmani on 18 January 2017 at Hyderabad and by our trustee Shri Nara Lokesh at Vijayawada. LBD was providentially held across 155 locations in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana on 18 January 2017. 14,187 volunteer blood donors donated blood during LBD. 2. NTR Trust CEO, Mr. T. Vishnu Vardhan performed Bhoomi Pooja at Harishchandrapuram and Venkatapalem villages to set up large scale NTR Sujala Plants. These plants will provide safe drinking water to residents of 29 villages in CRDA region at Rs. 2/- per 20 litres. 3. Students from Agastya Foundation visited NTR Sujala Plant in Kuppam. Mr. Subramanyam, employee ​ of NTR Sujala Plant explained about the activities of the plant like reverse osmosis process, automation and distribution mechanism to ensure 24/7 access to safe drinking water to the people. Agastya Foundation felt that this was an enriching experience for the students in getting a real time experience & a real time exposure of water purification process and quality. 4. During January and February 2017, various organizations and individuals have come forward to voluntarily donate blood. We salute their amazing spirit and thank the institutions, employees, and well-wishers for giving us the opportunity to contribute to the noble cause of voluntary blood donation. 5. During January and February 2017, NTR Trust organized free Medical Camps across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, wherein people were given free treatment and medicines. The purpose of this free health camp is to carry out Health Assessment, spread Health Awareness and provide Health Counselling. Press & Media Coverage: 1. In this session, he explained about LOA - 1. Thoughts becomes Things; 2. What you put your attention on, grows stronger in your life; 3. Like attracts Like. This session encouraged the participants to control their mind by which they can have inner peace. 2. NTR Trust rolled out one more programme for youngsters - “VIJETHA” meaning Victorious. It aims to train, motivate and empower youngsters who are finishing college. We are glad to collaborate with St.Ann’s College for Women. NTR Trust organized its 2nd learning event “Samalochana” - Let’s think together. The second session was conducted by Mr. Govind Babu on “6 Key principles for Happy Relationships”. Principles were: 1. Learn to lose and win; 2. Being honest with your ownself; 3. Healthy self - relationship; 4. Inclusiveness; 5. What you give only you will receive; 6. Ability to forgive people. 4. Mr. Koganti Rama Krishna - Cyient Corporate HR- Talent Acquistion distributed certificates to the first ​ batch of candidates who successfully completed 4 weeks of free training at NTR Trust’s Skill Development Centre (SDC) through our Training Partner JPS Techno Consultancy. On the occasion of Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s (NTR) 21st death anniversary, NTR Trust held a remembrance event titled “Telugu vaari jnapakam ( )” on 18 January 2017 at ​ ​ ెలగ ాజపకం Siddhartha College Grounds in Vijayawada. Telugu vaari jnapakam is a small portrayal of super rated ​ actor turned politician SRI NTR in the form of pictures, document screenings, 2D & 3D portraits. Chief Minister of AP, Sri Nara Chandra Babu Naidu paid a visit to the NTR Museum erected at Siddhartha College Grounds in Vijayawada. He walked down the memory lane and fondly recalled his association with the legendary actor-turned-leader Sri NTR. 3. NTR Trust in collaboration with Vijayawada Book Festival Society and Department of Language and Culture of Govt of Andhra Pradesh have initiated a Statewide function - Navyandhra Pusthaka Sambaralu (NPS). Hon’ble Chief Minister of AP, Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated NPS ​ in Vijayawada. Through this event, we intend to take Book Exhibitions to 7 major cities across Andhra Pradesh. 4. As a part of NPS, NTR Trust is glad to welcome Ex-RBI Governor, Sri. Duvvuri Subbarao and other eminent experts ​ for a panel discussion on “Role of RBI in the current scenario”. Former RBI Governor, Sri. Y V Reddy had a panel discussion on “Understanding your Money” at ​ Samalochana in NPS. Many Eminent personalities like, Sri Elapata Shiva Prasad, Sri Bhusurapalli Venkateswarlu, Sri Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, Sri Annavarapu Ramaswamy, Sri Mohana Krishna were ​ ​ ​ ​ associated with NPS. 5. Navyandhra Pusthaka Sambaralu Visakhapatnam, commenced from 27 Jan 2017 and continued till 05 Feb 2017. RCI Director and advisor of Defence Ministry Sri Sateesh Reddy has divulged about the ​ achievements of India in the field of Science & Technology especially in space research, Missile Technology, and Atomic Research. NTR Trust organized Blood Donation camps, Free Medical Camps & distributed safe drinking water to the public through NTR Sujala at all the NPS locations. 6. Navyandhra Pusthaka Sambaralu at Srikakulam was inaugurated by District Collector, Sri Lakshmi Narasimham on 10 February 2017 and continued till 19 February 2017. Mr. Kalipatnam Rama Rao,Dr. B.V.A.Rama rao, Dist S.P, Mr. Brahmareddy, Mr. Vijaya Kumar, Mr. Vivina Murthy were present at the inaugural event. NTR Trust Skill Development Centre successfully completed one year of operations on 06 April 2016. During this year 825 youngsters from AP & Telangana graduated of which 325 students were placed across various sectors. 15 job drives were conducted and partnership was built with 100 companies. 2. Mr. Y.Mohan Rao, COO-Education was invited to take part in a TV5 live programme to create awareness to youngsters on the education opportunities and career choices after 10th standard. 3. Team NTR Trust was glad to associate with Tollywood Actress Lakshmi Manchu to help Srilatha (a widow who is going blind) on the TV reality show Memu Saitham. Trustee Ms. Nara Brahmani offered ​ ​ Srilatha’s two children free and quality residential education at our NTR Model School & NTR Junior College. 4. 4 of our NTR Girls Junior College children stood as toppers in the Junior Intermediate public examinations. 5. 4 of our ex-NTR Model School children also stood as toppers in the Senior Intermediate public examinations. 6.
