Ntr Trust News Bulletin - 5 NTR TRUST NEWS BULLETIN - 5 We are happy to share with you the NTR Trust e-News Bulletin for the months of January and February 2016. We will be happy to have your feedback on the NTR Trust e-News Bulletin. On the occasion of Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao’s (NTR) 20th Vardhanthi ( ), NTR Trust ​ వరం initiated a flagship programme called “Legendary-Blood-Donation-Drive-(LBD)”. This mega volunteer ​ ​ ​ blood donation initiative was launched by our Managing Trustee Mrs. Nara Bhuvaneswari on 11 January, 2016. 2. LBD was successfully held across 140 locations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on 18 January, 2016, in which 14,420 volunteer blood donors have donated blood. NTR Trust partnered with Indian Red Cross Society, Government Blood Banks,... and 80 such Blood Banks in organizing this mega event. 3. Close to 50 celebrities have come forward to support LBD. Radio Partner Red FM and Transportation Partner UBER joined hands with NTR Trust in making LBD a great success. 4. Remembering the legend Sri NTR on his 20th anniversary, a commemoration event titled “Telugu ​ vaari jnaapakam ( )” was organized on 18 January, 2016 at NTR Trust Bhavan in ​ ెలగ ాజపకం Hyderabad. As part of this a preview of the outline of NTR Museum was inaugurated by our Trustees. In the evening Mr. Balakrishna (actor), Mr. Mohankanda (IAS), Mr. Seetharamaiah (confidante of Sri NTR), Mr. Prasad (LVPEI) joined in an informal discussion where they shared their memories of Sri NTR. WE WORK THE TALK www.ntrtrust.org | 1 ​ ​ 5. The second NTR-GEST (Girl Education Scholarship Test) was conducted at NTR Model School & Junior college, Gandipet, Hyderabad on 31 January, 2016. More than 1,400 girl children took the NTR-GEST. 6. NTR Trust signed an MoU with UBER (an international online transportation network company) at the NTR Trust Skill Development Centre on 01 February, 2016. Through this MoU NTR Trust has joined hands with UBER to create 20,000 micro-entrepreneurs (Driver Partners on Uber platform) over the next 3 years. On the very first day of the MoU signing NTR Trust helped enrol 19 Driver Partners with brand new cars (worth about Rs. 13 million) onto the Uber platform that would provide sustained livelihood for them. Some of the girl children who came to take part in the NTR-GEST from across AP and Telangana EDUCATION Our vision is to provide quality education to thousands of needy children who can’t afford it. Towards this vision, we intend to establish one school in every district of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Key Activities: 1. NTR-GEST was conducted at NTR Model School & Junior College, Gandipet, Hyderabad on 31 January, 2016. NTR Trust will award 25 meritorious girl students with merit scholarships of Rs. 60,000/- each to help them pursue their Intermediate course in AP & TS for two years. 2. NTR Trust organized a seminar for Tenth standard girls at Mahati Auditorium in Tirupati on 11 February, 2016. NTR Trust COO, Mr. Y Mohan Rao addressed the audience and created awareness about various career options for girl students in Legal sector and Civil Services. 3. Mr. Parthosarothy Sengupta, a professor in Behavioral Sciences delivered an inspiring speech to the students of NTR Model School on how to navigate the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) environment with judicious caution and without losing focus on output and results. Mrs. Nara Bhuvaneswari, Managing Trustee announced NTR Trust will undertake the “Legendary Blood Donation Drive” on the 18 January, 2016 on the occasion of NTR’s 20th Vardhanthi. On the occasion of 20th Vardhanthi of Legend NTR, NTR Trust organized a Legendary Blood Donation drive in multiple locations of Telangana & AP. NTR Trust organized a commemoration event “Telugu ​ vaari jnapaakam“ in memory of Legend NTR on 18 ​ January, 2016 at NTRT Skill development Centre. Mr. Nandamuri Bala Krishna, Telugu Hero presided over the event as the Chief Guest. He fondly remembered some of the memories of NTR as an actor, father and as a leader. Mrs. Nara Bhuvaneswari, Mr. Nara Lokesh, Mrs. Nara Brahmani & Mrs. Manchu Lakshmi attended this occasion . 4. Our Trustee Mr. Nara Lokesh’s most cherished dream is to build a state-of-the-art Museum for NTR. A museum that captures the rich and diverse personality of NTR, something that takes one down the memory lane of cinema and politics of the Telugu region. NTR Trust made an initial attempt to showcase what this spectacular museum could look like. 5. During January and February 2016, various organizations and individuals have come forward to voluntarily donate blood. We salute their amazing spirit and thank the institutions, employees, and well-wishers for giving us the opportunity to contribute to the noble cause of voluntary blood donation. The venues of the blood donation camps were - ICICI Bank, Tech Mahindra, Neelima Hospital, Chartered Accountant College in Hyderabad, Uniparts India Limited, Minister Mrunalini camp in Cheepurupalli, Sri Ganapathi Engineering college, Surekha Charitable Trust in Visakhapatnam. 6. During January and February 2016, NTR Trust organized free Medical Camps across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, wherein people were given free treatment and medicines. Most of the beneficiaries were from Nippatlapadu - Prakasam, Kovelamudi, Guntur and Karlapalem - Guntur district. Press & Media Coverage: 1. NTR Trust Skill Development Centre successfully completed one year of operations on 06 April 2016. During this year 825 youngsters from AP & Telangana graduated of which 325 students were placed across various sectors. 15 job drives were conducted and partnership was built with 100 companies. 2. Mr. Y.Mohan Rao, COO-Education was invited to take part in a TV5 live programme to create awareness to youngsters on the education opportunities and career choices after 10th standard. 3. Team NTR Trust was glad to associate with Tollywood Actress Lakshmi Manchu to help Srilatha (a widow who is going blind) on the TV reality show Memu Saitham. Trustee Ms. Nara Brahmani offered ​ ​ Srilatha’s two children free and quality residential education at our NTR Model School & NTR Junior College. 4. 4 of our NTR Girls Junior College children stood as toppers in the Junior Intermediate public examinations. 5. 4 of our ex-NTR Model School children also stood as toppers in the Senior Intermediate public examinations. 6. Inauguration of NTR Sujala Cluster Plant in Amaravathi Region by Hon’ble CM Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu HIGHLIGHTS 1. Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Minister for IT, Rural Development & Panchayat Raj Sri Nara Lokesh launched 2 Sujala Cluster Plants at Venkatayapalem in Amaravathi Capital City under NTR Sujala Scheme. NTR Trust’s Sujala Cluster will provide safe drinking water at Rs.2/- for 20 litres round the clock to all the 29 villages in Amaravathi Capital region. 2. NTR Trust’s Sujala Cluster Model gets state level recognition. RWS&S department lauded the efforts of NTR Trust and extended an invitation to become the Technical Resource Partner (TRP) for their drinking water supply projects. As TRP, NTR Trust will share its proprietary designs, know-how, technology and knowledge about Cluster Model with RWS&S of GoAP on a pro bono basis. The engagement will enable NTR Trust to scale up the Cluster Model under GoAP’s Sujala Scheme. With the partnership, 2000 villages will be provided with safe drinking water in the next one year. The MoU was signed by Mr. T.Prabhakar Rao, Chief Engineer - RWS&S and Mr. T. Vishnu Vardhan, CEO of NTR Trust in the presence of Jawahar Reddy Principal Secretary, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Engineer -in-Chief RWS&S and Sujala Team of NTR Trust.

A Voluntary Blood Donation camp was conducted at Oman by NRI volunteers of NTR Trust on the occasion of late Sri NT Rama Rao’s 96th Birth Anniversary. Thanks to all the 95 NRI volunteers who came to donate blood to save lives in Oman. HEALTH Key Activities: 1. A free health check-up camp at Tembhurni, Solapur Constituency, Maharashtra District was organized by NTR Trust in collaboration with Heritage Foods Ltd & Local Doctors. 126 residents came for the health check-up. Doctors advised them various medicines and consultation during the camp. Trustee Smt. Nara Brahmani distributing Free Medicines during the Camp 2. A free health check-up camp at Bonekal, Khammam district was organized by NTR Trust in collaboration with local Doctors.
