5.6 Suggestion INDUSTRIAL PROMOTION CAMPAIGN / CAMPS The work of industrial promotion in the State has been assigned primarily to the State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO) at the State level. However, other organization like the state financial corporation (RFC) Directorat e of Industries, are also involved in industrial promotion. At the district level, this work is being done by the local officer of the organization mentioned above and the District Industries Centers. In order to provide single window service to entrepreneurs and also to give them escort services. The Bureau of Industrial Promotion have been organizing industrial promotion campaigns within the state and outside the state at such important centers where the entrepreneurs of Rajasthan origin have set up industrial ventures viz. Delhi, Calcutta, , Bombay etc. in order to attract them and other interested industrialists to set up ventures in this State. These campaigns have proved quite successful as such it is suggested that this programme should be continued in the future also.

Industrial camps have been organized at the district level and below by the DICS in collaboration with RIICO, Banks and RFC to attract local entrepreneurs to set up industrial units in the District.

CHAPTER – VI SUMMARY OF FINDINGES AND RECOMMENDATIONS

At present there are 16 industrial areas functioning in this District. The industrial areas which are functioning are Indraprastha, opposite Multi Metals, Railway Crossing, Furniture Area, Small Scale Area, large Scales Area, Old Industrial Estate, Nanta, Lakhawa, Bimpura Industrial Area, Kuber Industrial area and sakatpura industrial area Suket, Ramganjmandi Phase I and II out of the 16 industrial areas, 12 are in Kota city, 4 in Ladpura Tehsil, 3 in Ramganj Mandi Teshil. Out of total 3404 plots planned 3211 plots has been allotted. A Masala park is under developing in ramganjmandi by Masala board.

A dry port is situated at Ranwatha road(Mandana).

For the proposed industrialization of the district, the following measures are proposed.

1. Augmentation and expansion of the existing industrial areas. 2. Development of new industrial areas at Kaithun, Sangod and Ranpur in Kota District. 3. Entrepreneurship development programme. 4. Arrangements for credit. 5. Revival of closed / sick large / medium scale units. 6. Revival of closed / sick small scale units. 7. Clusters Development Programme 8. SEZ

Special efforts are required for the revival of above mentioned closed/sick Small/ Medium/large scale units.

The number of MSME acknowledged with Industries Department was 6262 in March, 2015 with a capital investment of Rs.33381 lakh and employment was provided to 32643. There is need of revival of sick/closed units. Khadi and village Industries provided employment to 3815 persons up to 2014 2015 Cottage industries of the district are pottery, black smithy, carpentry, weaver, cobblers, leather tanning, oil ghanies, gum units etc. under the handloom sector weaving of kota Doria saries, handloom chaddar, Khadi terry cot, tie and dye

D./mayr/pers/pot.surv.2011 51 work, silver ornaments, lacquered toys etc. Among the important artisan units are leather work, donepattal, wooden toys, sarkanda & khas udyog, broom udyog. Honey products. Hand knitting etc. There is need to give patronage to theses units and enhance their production. The need is to provide adequate and suitable marketing structure and marketing strategies also for the raw material as well as for the finished products.

The large and medium industries located in District require a number of Industrial products which are used by them as intermediate products which can be produced by SSI units. They include potassium nitrate, sodium antimonite, safety shoes, hand gloves, Jute/HDPE bags, soda lime/soda carbonate, Tin container, SS forging aluminum pressure Die Casting components PCB’s. The transformers, coils, rubber items, packing boxes, electrical assemblies, chlorinated paraffin wax etc. However what is needed for ancillary development is that the large industrial units should give preference to local SSI units in purchasing the intermediate items and the payment should be made regularly.

In proper industrial development the following measures are: (a) The development of ancillary units should be made mandatory on the large units. They should provide technical know how and necessary inputs. (b) Entrepreneurship development programme should form a part of D.I.C. programme. (c) R.D. Cell of zila parishad encourage the various training programme to set up their cottage/small scale/artisan units. (d) Khadi & Village Industries Board must ensure the supply of latest technical knowhow to artisans and other inputs so as to encourage the rural craftsman for village and cottage industries. (e) Marketing of the products of village and cottage industries/small scale industries/artisan units be properly organized. (f) For Industrial development different department are also conduct the training progrmme in skill development sector such as RSLDC, Rudseti, Social Welfare dept, Nagar Nigam, SC.ST Corporation. They should also promote trainees to establish their venture. WEAKNESSES The constraints for the further development in kota district are infra structural facilities Vig. Non availability the new industrial areas and lack of local entrepreneurship. The handicap to the village and

small scale industries is lack of working capital and marketing supports. STRENGTH The strength of this district are its human resource, large livestock population non metallic mineral resources (sand stone, masonry stone, limestone) agricultural production, availability of water and power etc. These factors can be exploited by adopting a suitable strategy for further industrial development of the district. The establishment of Kota Chittorgarh rail line is a bone for industrial development. A number of concessions, facilities and incentive have been declared by the State Government for industrialization in the State i.e. RIPS 2014 & MO fpi has also declared food mission programme.
