The Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments is a non-partisan, regional planning partnership made up of voluntary members in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Together, TMACOG members work on transportation and water quality planning, and other economic development endeavors that affect quality of life for everyone in our region. TMACOG is a unit of government in the State of Ohio under ORC Section 167.
TMACOG’s membership includes the following counties and numerous governmental units within each county: Lucas which includes the City of Toledo, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Wood counties in Ohio, and Monroe County in Michigan. TMACOG also has village government members located in Fulton County. Additionally, TMACOG is a long-established Federally Designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Lucas County, Wood County, and Erie, Bedford, and Whiteford townships in Monroe County Michigan. The total citizen population served by TMACOG is more than 806,000.
TMACOG therefore petitions the U.S. Department of the Treasury to allow TMACOG to make direct funding requests as an official unit of government in the State of Ohio on behalf of our members from the State and Local Government Coronavirus Relief Fund under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act for approved Covid-19 expenditures.
