This work was commissioned in part by the Brooklyn Academy of Music and the National Endowment for the Arts. Additional support was received from the New York State Council on the Arts. ATALANTA was commissioned by the Trisha Brown Company for SON OF GONE FISHIN' and is performed by the Robert Ashley Ensemble with the mix of orchestra parts on tape by Paul Shoor.

LINE -UP (1977)

Lighting: Ken Tabachnick Dancers: The Company

LINE-UP was made by the 1977 Company members through the process of improvisation, recall, then memorization of material derived from the instruction: "Line Up." Interspersed throughout the dance are other line dances that have appeared under the title STRUCTURED PIECES (1973-1976). Music for the "Spanish Dance" section is EARLY MORNING RAIN by Gordon Lightfoot, performed by Bob Dylan.

SET AND RESET (World Premiere)

Choreography: Trisha Brown Music: LONG TIME NO SEE by Visual Presentation: Robert Rauschenberg Lighting: Beverly Emmons Dancers : The Company Musicians: Laurie Anderson, violin Dickie Landry, alto sax (over) This work was commissioned in part by the National Endowment for the Arts' Inter-Arts and Dance Programs; The Charles Engelhard Foundation; the New York State Council on the Arts' Dance, Visual Arts, and Music Programs; Philip Morris, Incorporated; BAM's NEXT WAVE Production and Touring Fund; and Jane and Robert Meyerhoff. Jacob's Pillow, with the support of the Massachusetts Art Council's New Works Program, made it possible for work to begin on this collaboration.

LONG TIME NO SEE was commissioned by the Trisha Brown Company for SET AND RESET. The music was recorded and mixed at RPM Studios, Leanne Ungar, engineer, with Laurie Anderson (Synclavier, Bells, Shouting, Loops), (Guitar), and David Van Tieghem (Simmons Drums, Drums, Plywood, Bowls). A short version of this work, with words, (GRAVITY'S ANGEL) is included on the EP released this winter by Warner Bros. Records.
